I stared at my ceiling. I needed to get up but for some reason my body would let me. I had already showered and my bag was ready. I could just get breakfast at school. Maybe I should call in sick. Then I remembered the lighter. Well gotta give that back.
Getting out of my house I passed my dad's motorcycle. Memories of the past came. I turned away from it going towards my white Bentley, a gift from my aunt in Brooklyn. I stared at it. My aunt knew very well about my car phobia. Yet she had decided to send me one. I sighed walking away to school. Walking was my way of cooling off. My place was close to school anyways and it was April so its fine.
As I came into school people went on whispering about my outfit. A blue skirt and a white blouse. I was in advance compared to the season. A girl came to me showing her outfit. She stuttered a lot. I felt sorry for these people. Of only they knew who I was inside. Pfft they'd think twice before coming near. I patted her shoulder with a friendly smile. Telling her her own style was better than mine and that I envied her way of doing her hair. Lies. I just wish I could stab all of them. A good bloodbath like back in elementary. I continued my way to class. We had biology. I came in greeting the teacher then heading in to my table. I sat next to a 'friend'. Louise a transfer from Italy. She had brown hair and brown eyes. Damn this girl's perfume smelled strong. I immediately regretted sitting next to her. I ignored the perfume freak and started a conversation with Hashton. She was the only one who didn't do sports. She was a natural. Just into photography. She was a normal girl. The only one I tolerated even. Soon the teacher came in starting class.
A few minutes later we heard a few bangs from the halls and a boom. A few seconds after the principal came in. A fat man with a beard. He dragged with him...Oh god. The angel of death! My eyes widened. He had a red hood this time and a black side bag. The principal said a few things about the boy being new and a trouble maker. People sneered at his look. He was immediately labeled as a rebellious kind. I leaned onto the table taking in everyone of his looks. That was a piece of meat I wanted. The teacher said again a few things then I was blessed. He asked the boy to sit behind me. As he walked over I sat back up. He glanced at our table. I'm sure I saw something in his eyes right there! He winked at me! He winked! I turned away to the board with a normal face ignoring the others giving him a weird look.
"What a creep," Johan said. He was Brandon's best friend.
"Is it me or he winked at you?" Sarah asked.
"You're kidding right?" I laughed nervously.
"Better know what's his and what's not" Brandon said glancing behind at the new boy. I turned around. He was staring down at his notebook drawing. I looked at the drawing seeing a snake holding onto a heart.
"Ew what the hell" Louise said wrinkling her nose. Beside her Jeff from the basketball team laughed.
"That's shit," he stated. I frowned at them.
"Hey stop it," I whispered. They rolled. there eyes.
"You guys are being rude what if he heard?" Hashton said.
"Come on Hash! That loser can't do shit," I glanced at the boy again. The same moment his eyes caught mine. I turned around. I could feel his gaze sink into my back.
"What are you staring at freak?" Brandon asked. The boy laughed.
"Take a guess lackey" he replied. I could sense the tension rise. At that moment the teacher told Brandon to listen.
"Mr. Milles if you came to disturb please take your leave," I guess that was his name. He grinned grabbing his stuff. The teacher gawked at him.
"Sit back down Milles," he said. The boy groaned plopping back down making the rest snicker.
"What a loser," Louisa muttered. I rolled my eyes.
When the bell rang you could say it was as if there was a fire. People swarm the halls for break time. Of course no one bumped into us. Except for Miller.
"Hey watch it!" Sarah yelled at him. He flipped the bird at her making me smile. Finally someone who didn't give a shit if her daddy was a PTO.
"Lets give him a little welcome," I turned to Calem. Vice captain of the football team.
"What if you get caught," I asked. Brandon kissed my cheek.
"Don't worry, no one will notice" I watched as they went over to Miller. Three against one. What a cowardly manner. I clenched my jaw as Brandon grabbed his collar.
"Brandon wait-" a punch went flying and the jock was down. My eyes went wide. People stood on the side.
"Bastard!" Curses went on as more jocks joined. Milles got them all down. This was the best day ever! I felt myself smile but got it covered right away. Milles wasn't even hurt save for the blood coming from the head. A teacher showed up. People dispersed Sarah and Hashton pulled me along. I tried to get out of there grip with the excuse of worry for Brandon. I was more worried about my angel getting in trouble.
We saw them again at lunch. I gave Brandon a comforting hug. I didn't love him but he was still a friend to me. I soon excused myself. Walking out to the nurse's office. On the way I thought of an excuse as to why I was going if anyone asked.
To get ice for the team?
Brandon needed painkillers!
I had a stomachache?
Finally a teacher asked me if I knew Miller and if I could give him the detention slip. I looked down to the name. Milles Logan, 10th grade.
I was never so happy.
I slipped into the infirmary, thankfully the nurse wasn't there.
"What are you lookin for?" I jumped. I turned to him.
"O-Oh! Uh Milles Logan?" He nodded. I handed him the slip hiding my face. He didn't move for a while. He grabbed it from my hands.
"If you're here for you boyfriend he's already gone," I looked at him. He had a bandage over his head. Say something! Anything!
"I really liked your drawing!" He turned to look at me again. He chuckled exposing his sharp canines.
"You're the first to say that," he laughed.
"But its true, not only that but your tattoos are cool too," my face grew hot.
"Really? Anything else," I shook my head.
"So why did you show up here?" I shrugged.
"I wanted to see how you were doing" he raised a brow.
"What's your name?" I blinked. Here it comes.
"Mara Donovan, I'm 14 class rep and the cheerleader head and-"
"That's it," he cut me off.
"What?" I asked.
"Mara was it? I'm disappointed, thought you'd be a lil more creative, seems you're just a doll like any other," for some reason that threw me off without thinking I grabbing his collar.
"Don't you call me like that, I'm not like them" I growled. I snapped back and let go. What had I done! Years of pushing away my drive, now I ruined it! What was he doing to me.
"Wow!" He laughed. I turned to him.
"Shut up you ass!" I growled again. I slapped a hand over my mouth. Had I just cursed?
"Hey hey, what are ya covering your mouth for?" I turned to him. He walked closer. I back away with every step. Why was I even backing away!? Soon I was pinned to a wall. Both his hands were traping me.
"Lemme hear it again," he whispered. A shiver ran down my spin. I looked away.
"Don't be embarrassed, its just me," I looked down.
"You're an ass, I hope you're aware," I muttered. I didn't use the sweet tone I wore with the rest.
"Tell me about it," he smirked grabbing my chin. He leaned in capturing my lips in his. I hadn't felt such a rush before. I knew it was wrong. Anyone who entered would see us. But I didn't care.
I was back in class when the bell rang. I raised my hand to the hickey I had. This was...great. I was already longing again for him. It felt like fire when we kissed it was pure but sinful at the same time. Damn.
"Logan," I whispered to myself. None of my friends were in this class except Hashton. She was asleep. I don't blame her this is Math the teacher was absent anyways. So no one heard nor saw the blush I had as I drew his name in a blood red pen. This is bad. I was falling in love. I shook my head ripping the page off. I sighed shoving it in my bag. My hand grazed the lighter. I forgot to give it back to him. I slipped out of class to the detention room when I heard another boom. I looked inside. Red paint like blood everywhere. People ran out. Logan came out last. He grinned at me.
Let's go before the teacher comes back!" We ran. I heard the principal yell. A laughter built itself out of my throat. The rush came again followed by adrenaline.
"How does it feel princess?" He asked as we dodged students. This might take a tool on my reputation but what the hell.
"Its sick! I love it!" I grinned jumping over heads. Gymnastic classes payed off.
Logan smiled at me.
"Well wanna skip?" We still had two hours left. I smiled again wider.
"Hell yeah!"
