Its been a while since I learned about the human monsters. Ever since I feel like Logan has been a little distant and hesitant about coming near me. I also was pondering on the words Ty had said. "He never learned"? What did that mean? How come Logan could control it without learning? It wasn't even possible!? This was becoming unthinkable of I needed some freaking answers before I-!
"Mara? What has brought you here?" I looked up to Mrs. Milles.
"Hello Mrs. Milles,"
"Call me Qiara, please, I'm guessing you need answers" I nodded. That woman could see right through me. She waved at me to come in.
"I wanted to know more about pyro-monsters," she nodded leading me to the living room.
"What is it you need on them?" I thought about it for a moment. I could concentrate long as the white husky from the other day came to me. I smiled at it petting it's head.
"I just need answers on how to control it," I stated. She hummed.
"First you need to know how to breath, practice your breathing do yoga or jogging that'll help, you also need to know how to calm down when you feel yourself getting hot, I heard from Logan a cold shower always calmed you" I nodded as the husky jumped onto my lap. I hadn't even noticed the blue collar.
"Yeah that's usually the way" she nodded.
"Then always have a cold drink or try doing a sport related to water like swimming, just make sure your body is always cooled down" I nodded stating down at the name.
"You also need to let the past fade," I snapped my head up.
"What does that mean?" I knew what she meant but that was unlikely.
"Find yourself Mara, you need to accept what happened you need to let go, if you don't" her eyes looked down to the husky.
"You'll end up eaten by Riley Colton" the name itself caught me off guard making me fall off my chair. I looked at her in horror.
"H-How? Who told you?" I asked. My whole body shook and my head felt fuzzy. Riley Colton, its been years since I hadn't heard the name.
"You don't need to be afraid, I won't tell anyone-"
"No! How do you even know about her? How come? She's dead and gone no one should even know!" I cut off. Panic over took my body and tears went down my cheeks.
"Mara, please you need to calm down!" She said. I shook my head and pulled my hair. Riley. Riley. Riley. RILEY-
"Mara!" I gasped feeling something cold hit me. I looked up at Qiara. She had for the first time a saddened face.
"I'm sorry this was the only way," how many times had I heard about this.
"Its okay, I needed it anyways, thanks" I said whipping the cold water off. When I did, I noticed I was already dried. Was I that close to burning up.
"Mara you need to accept it" I hummed.
"I know, I just need time" she nodded.
"By the way" I asked.
"Yes" I bit my lip. I needed to know what happened to Logan.
"How did Logan and Jayce learn?" She chuckled.
"Jayce learned with his father the military way while Logan, he never did" she stated. I frowned deeper.
"What does that even mean?" I asked.
"Logan didn't want to be a pyro-monster yet he ended being the greatest of all, he can take on any other elemental monster but Logan didn't want that, he wanted to be normal" she sighed.
"That's the main cause of why he doesn't get along with his father, Ivan wanted him to be the next one in line for the Pyro-monster throne, Logan refused that's when the whole fight started, Logan refuses to carry on the whole pyromania legacy while Ivan wants him to become his successor," she explained.
"He never went to the controlling courses nor did he show up to the seasonal practice, that really got his father on nerves the two were similar but they never came to an agreement about anything, lately Ivan has tried to make Jayce the heir" she sighed. I turned away from her. Why WS wrong with the man? Your son won't be the heir leave him alone the hell?
"Anyways I need to go" she nodded waving goodbye.
"Oh and Mara" I hummed at the door.
"Say hi to Gabriela for me" I didn't question how she knew my aunt and just left. The only thing on my mind right now was Riley Colton.
"Hey" I yelped. I turned around to Logan.
"What the-? You could've given me a heart attack!" I pouted. He smiled at me ruffling my hair. It became a habit since he was afraid of getting me on fire again.
"By the way, you could've asked me for information" I froze.
"Sorry," I muttered. He shook his head.
"Its alright, you wanted to know more anyways and" he leaned down.
"I like it when you're curious about me" he whispered. I knew he wanted to kiss me but he refrained from doing so.
"Mara, I, I don't know if I can hold it" his green eyes flashed red and I knew he was doing his best. I grabbed his arm and ran up to his room.
The moment we made it his eyes turned a perfect red rubby color. Or was it a scarlet shade I couldn't tell. He pushes me against the door locking it as his teeth sunk into the hickies that were close to disappearing. I could feel myself melt to his touch and my cheeks grew hot. This was different from the heat I felt when burning up. This was a warmth I'd never want to let go of. It made me forget the past and who I used to be. Who Riley Colton was. My breathing hitches followed by a moan when his hands touched my back.
"I'm sorry, did I hurt you" I shook my head. The past was coming to me again. I hugged him closer.
"N-No, I'm fine just, don't touch my back with your bare hands" he nodded unsurely. Someday I'd have to tell him, about what happened in Louisiana. Someday...
