Today was.....a day. Special? Probably. Problematic? Most likely. Devin sighed as he sluggishly made his way towards his house. He stared at the door knob for a while. Contemplating to run and never look back, but alas he had to man up. He couldn't keep hiding this forever.
"Mom, dad....", he called once finally opening the door. "In here!", his parents shouted from within the kitchen. He slowly closed the door and unsurely made his way towards them. He sat on the kitchen counter waiting for them to acknowledge him. "How was school d.d?", his mom asked. He groaned at the terrible nickname but answered her anyway. "Well.... I actually met someone today... a really, REALLY cute new kid..."
His father perked up at the sound of that. "Really? Tell me about her. Was she pretty?", his father asked, suggestively wiggling his eyebrows. "Well you see.....", Devin started taking in a deep breath. "She is actually..... a he." He stared at them, patiently awaiting their response. His mother let out a relieved sigh. "Oh good heavens I thought you would never tell us!", she said exasperated. He stared at them dumbfounded making his father let out a loud, rumbling laugh. "Your face is priceless! Quick Martha take a picture!", "Oh!", Martha said as she fumbled with her phone. Devin heard the 'click' of his mother's phone capturing his no doubt, hilarious face, still too shocked to speak.
Martha just chuckled. "We've known for quite a while dear, we just wanted you to tell us yourself." Devin blinked slowly, still trying to process the situation. "How?", he asked. His mother's face turned a bright shade of red causing his father to go into a laughing fit. "Your mother had went to clean your room one day when you left for school but saw that you left your computer on. When she went to turn it off.....", he chuckled. "She found some pretty interesting things on it." Devin's facial  expression turned to that of  dread. He couldn't believe he accidentally left it on. His poor mother.
"We're just happy you told us." His mother said. "Now tell  us about this boy." His father happily said. Devin smiled, happy to tell them about the boy he was sure to be thinking about for weeks.
