The two sat in the kitchen, or rather Luke sat at the kitchen table while Eden cooked a hefty breakfast for them, she was no longer as young and innocent as Luke had last seen her, instead,  she was more sure of what to do and how to act, there was a certain ease in her movements like she trusted her subconscious entirely.

He watched as she maneuvered around the kitchen perfectly, looking almost as if she was dancing, it was truly interesting to see especially considering she'd never taken dancing lessons, "You're trusting your senses more." he couldn't help but comment, prompting a smile to grace Eden's lips, "Dad I lived in France for a long while on my own, I needed to trust my senses." she replied easily, not bothering to lie to her father.

"How was it there?" Luke questioned, scooting down on his chair, making sure that his pj shirt didn't get caught in the chair as he did so, "Lonely." his daughter replied without missing a beat, "Knowing that if I got in trouble you wouldn't be there, knowing that if I encountered a demon I wouldn't be able to rely on the pack, knowing I would be able to wake up Sunday mornings to mom's pancakes or knowing that I couldn't rely on family dinners. It was lonely."

Luke's smile became grim for a moment, knowing fully well that that's what he felt when he first became a werewolf, but at the time he had her, a young cub to look after so it kinda helped him, "Was the pack there good to you?" Eden nodded at his question, turning off the stove and placing everything on the table, "They were, but they were not my pack, it's not the same thing." she explained.

Once again Luke's smile diminished but it was wide enough for her to know that he understood what she felt, "But lets move on to much happier things." she countered, taking a seat at the table, in front of her dad, twisting her hair and pinning it up and out of the way, causing her father to shake his head at her action, remembering that she always needed to have her hair out of her way when she was eating, or she would somehow get it in her mouth.

"Happier things?" he patronized jokingly, grabbing his mug of coffee to take a sip, "And what might those be?" Eden shrugged and picked up a strip of bacon, "Clary, Maia, the pack, the station...." she began, biting into her stop of bacon nonchalantly, "Jocelyn?" Luke finished with a chuckle, knowing fully well that his daughter was headed that way, how could he not know, it's almost all she badgered him about.

"Jocelyn." Eden confirmed with a teasing smile, "Eden you know that we're too different. It won't happen." Luke sighed in resignation, already knowing what was coming for him, "To hell with that shadowhunter and downworlder bureaucracy, it's bullshit dad and you know it." Eden started, his dark brown eyes narrowing at him slightly "10 years, 10 years I've seen you pinning over that godsent woman, 18 years I've heard you talk about her like she's the moon and stars, 18 years I've heard you talk shit about her ex-husband, granted I know but come on dad."

Luke sighed once more but kept quiet, "Did you go to the farmhouse this summer?"Eden questioned, changing the subject herself, not wanting her arrival to turn slightly sour, "We did, took Simon with us, Clarry insisted we did, of course, his band wasn't all too happy about it." Luke replied, earning a nod from his daughter as she continued to eat her breakfast, "Those two have decided that they are going to be doing a graphic novel together."

Eden chuckled, thankfully having already swallowed her food otherwise she'd choke on hit, "Simon's imagination and writing talent and Clary's imagination and drawing talent, I'll be the first to buy the first copy." she commented smiling, Luke nodded at her he chewing his own food.

It wasn't long before they'd finished their breakfast and were clearing out the table, "I hear that Clary is auditioning for Brooklyn's Academy of Arts." Eden claimed, putting the dirty dishes in the dishwasher, "Yeah." Luke agreed, looking back at his daughter, "Let me guess, you're going to track Simon down and wait for Clary with him." a chuckle left his lips while he shook his head placing the cooldown frying pan in the washer as well.
