It surprised Jace Wayland more than anything that his best friend and parabatai was talking willingly with their rescue, that Alexander Lightwood felt comfortable in Eden's presence, especially when she wasn't family or anything like that, the oldest of the Lightwood siblings wasn't one to socialize with newcomers, by Raziel he didn't even socialize with anyone other than him and his sister.

"To us you're sketchy." Jace rebutted, sounding slightly like a 3rd grader that just saw his best friend make a new best friend, which was most definitely the case. Eden rolled her eyes at Jace's childish retaliation while Alec merely chuckled under his breath, never having seen Jace remotely jealous of anyone or anything.

"The adults are talking darling, wait outside okay?" the brunette young woman told him patronizingly with a small pout, provoking the blonde man to no end, Jace opened his mouth to retaliate before closing it, a small huff leaving his lips as he leaned against the kitchen counter near his parabatai.

This surprised Alec who was used to Jace smart mouthing everyone, him and Izzy included, but kept quiet, knowing that by the look on his parabatai's face that he was not pleased with not having a quip to reply to Eden.

"Whether you find him sketchy or not, Hodge is the training teacher of this Institute, so yes he will train you." Alec replied, crossing his arms over his chest, making his muscles flex leaving Eden to question if every shadowhunter flexed their arm muscles to make themselves scarier.

"Unless you rather us contact the Clave and send you to Alicante to be trained by the weapon's masters there." Alec's words made Eden glare at him, the smirk that she had been giving Jace falling from her face as she clenched her jaw. "I think I'm good not visiting your home city." she replied coldly.

"It's your home city as well." Jace input, taking this time to smirk at her from where he stood, "Hodge said he knew you and there's one place Hodge ever was before he was sent here and that was Alicante." Eden's eyes flashed to Jace's figure dangerously, making the same feeling of uneasiness that had course through Alec earlier flash through his own body.

"I will have your heart served to me on a silver platter if you don't shut up Lightworm."  She snapped angrily, "Lightwood, and I'm a Wayland not a Lightwood." Jace corrected with a smirk, ignoring the not so empty threat.

Eden slipped off the high chair that she had been sitting on and smiled as innocently as possible "Dad's a cop, I know how to murder you, bury you and leave no traces of your existence anywhere."

Her boot-clad feet leading out of the kitchen and somewhere in the goddamned Institute, leaving the parabatais in the kitchen.

"Well, that was fun." Jace chuckled as soon as he felt that he was within a safe distance from the mixed woman who had promised to erase his existence off the face of the world. "Try not to get killed by her Jace." Alec muttered to his parabatai, knowing fully well that he could hear him, "I feel like I won't be able to save you from her claws once you piss her off."

Another chuckle left Jace's lips, a light-hearted one this time that indicated that he didn't believe that Eden Garroway was actually going to kill him if he pissed her off.

"You know who she reminded me of?" Jace questioned after a moment of silence as his best friend cleaned up what had been used, "Who?" Alec replied, a small sigh leaving his lips as he silently hoped that his best friend wasn't going to say a name that should not be uttered.

"The High Inquisitor." Jace started "Imogen Herondale." the name made a cold shiver run down their spines, remembering that the woman was a cold-hearted witch that care only about the Clave and not about people's families and bonds.

"I wouldn't go as far as that Jace." Alec countered, "No, listen to me Alec, there is only one person in the whole Shadow World that can strike the fear of Raziel in me and that's Imogen Herondale, and that girl, who we know nothing about, struck the fear of Raziel in me." Jace claimed.
