"Aro will want us incapacitated before he attacks. Jane and Alec will try and take me out first because I can anticipate their moves," Edward explains to us as we attempt to develop some type of plan in case the meeting with the Volturi goes sideways.

Garrett looks to Bella and me, mainly focusing his light red eyes on my cousin, "Too bad we don't all have your shield."

"Doesn't help me fight, though," Bella countered, perplexed as to how her ability would be useful in the fight for others. Naturally a shield is used to protect yourself from any unwanted attacks, not particularly useful for a group of over two dozen people.

"No, but you could help the rest of us, if you could project it," Tanya agrees but offers a solution.

"What do you mean?" We say together, looking at the Denali as though she'd offered us each a million dollars. We both have made it a habit to try and protect those around us, so when Tanya offers the idea of projecting the shield it definitely caught our attention.

Tanya softly chuckled at our surprise, I suppose would be the best way to describe our reactions because it was an equal amount of surprise and eagerness, "I mean shield someone other than yourself."

"Is that possible?" Bella asks Carlisle and Eleazar, as they are the wisest of the vampires in present company and the most knowledgeable.

Carlisle nods in agreement, validating what Tanya had to say, "Gifts can be developed. Over time."

"At first, mine was just in my palms. Now I can radiate it all over my body," Sparky informs us, providing an example of her electric touch.

"How do you do it?" Bella demands as she takes Kate's hand, a little too hard, "Tell me."

Kate looked Bella in her eager eyes, her porcelain expression deadpan as she emotionlessly sighs, "Ow." Then proceeds to take Bella out into the forest that I considered the Cullen backyard with Emmett, Garrett and Edward following closely behind to try and help Bella develop her power.

"You think it's possible for me to harness my gift?" I blurt out to Carlisle and Eleazar after everyone else had left the room until it was only the three of us and Paul, words uncontrollably escaping my lips that somewhat surprised the three men in present company. "Or does it seem inconceivable due to my lack of afterlife?"

Eleazar looks at me, amused, "You are truly an enigma. Perhaps if you could choose a gift you wanna pursue since it seems to me that you have multiple, you could focus on how to materialize and manipulate that ability."

His answer excited me, allowing my imagination to run rampid with the idea of me being useful with my gift. I had many ideas of the possibility that my multifaceted gifts could be: among them being a shield like Bella and a type of Legilimens like Edward. "So in theory, I could just try strengthen my shield like Bella is attempting to do at the moment and it would help you guys without me even being a vampire."

"Yes, hypothetically speaking," The Cullen patriarch chuckled, bemused by my excitement. The glimpse of excitement and intrigue mirrored in his own topaz colored eyes, ready to discover the solution to our inquiries over the past few months.

"Okay then," I squeak, cracking my knuckles. "Let's see what I can do."

As I head outside to join Bella in her Jedi training, Paul quickly joins me and stops me in my tracks, "Are you seriously going to try this? What if this "gift" you have is actually harmful?"
