Being apathetic is being indifferent. It's not caring or not trying to show emotion. Some people feel it as if they aren't supposed to have emotions and some feel like it's impossible to even have them.

He hid them.

He hid his emotions from everyone. He told people he didn't care. He told people what happens, happens. He said that feelings don't leave but that they change. He never wanted to show anyone that part of him. He wouldn't tell a single soul what he was going through.

Even if it wasn't pain.

Nothing would leave his mouth. Nothing would make him explode. Nothing would get him to spit out his demons. Nothing would show him how to heal. No one taught him how to.

Bottling things and hiding them was what he was best at. Keeping things to himself. Secrets and lies are all fun in games until they let loose.

And she made him let loose.

He lost his mind over her. He tried to stay away but only grew closer to her. He felt like he was drowning the entire time until she pulled him to the surface to let him breathe for once.

He pushed his feelings for her away. Tried to get them out of his head because he couldn't tell her. So he chose to play the role of the bad guy. His rude words striking through her everywhere they went. His feelings wouldn't stop as much as he became frustrated with her.

Pushing.

Slamming.

Pulling.

Back and Forth.

Never-ending.

He tried to hate her, but it only made him love her even more. He didn't have the courage to tell her. Every time she came up to him something would slip from his mind, coming from his good side. She could see it for a split second but then it disappeared.

He hid his feelings.

But as much as he is excellent at hiding things, she is just as superior at finding things. She wanted to find out his story or uncover his case. She wanted to know him deep down under the hard shell of cover blocking her or anyone from entering.

Shattering.

Breaking.

Collapsing.

Side to side.

Always swaying.

She tried not to think about him. Trying not to let him consume her thoughts but he was all that she drew. Her feelings for him. Anything that she did had to do with him.

She tried to stop.

Whether that was either trying to get him to open up or leaving things be. She could not stop coming back to him. They were confused and lost in a dream with each other. Dazing their way through every obstacle life threw at them.

Waltzing...without knowing how to dance.

One second they were together and the next they were as far away as possible. They were complicated but she did not let that stop her.

And he...

Well, he was apathetic...

And supposedly in the end...

He was supposed to feel...

Uninterested...
