(trigger warning)
And it's breaking over me
A thousand miles down to the sea bed
I found the place to rest my head
(Never let me go, never let me go
Never let me go, never let me go)
...Lou's POV
I woke up with a cold today. My voice is hoarse and my head is throbbing. I thought it was allergies a week ago but I think it obviously isn't.
I broke up with Andrew last Wednesday. It was a good relationship but the wrong time. I talked to Porter about it. Agreeing with him that it's okay to not be in a relationship and it is probably the best for me at the moment.
Currently, I'm getting ready for the day. It's already noon since I slept and rested for my health's sake. I plan on working at my desk all day and finishing work for classes. I brush my teeth and put on some black leggings and pair it with a soft short light gray aspen half-zipped sweater.
I slip on my vans after washing my face and applying a small amount of makeup that's almost transparent. I make my way out of my room grabbing my phone, my car keys, and the key to the apartment.
I head down to the lobby and notice Daniel sitting on the couch by the exit door. He's hunched over his lap with his forearms on his knees with his head glued to the ground.
"Good morning," I smile at him as I walk by pushing the door forgetting it's a pull door. I hear Daniel chuckle as he looks up at me.
"You have to pull it-
"Yes, I got it. Not like my next act was to lift it up from the bottom Seavey." I am quick to cut him off with a remark and slap my mouth.
"I'm sorry," I pause and look over at him, "Do you want coffee? I'm going to get some if you want-
"No...thank you though. I have plans today..." he looks away. I'm trying to be nice or fix this in a way where Daniel and I can still be friends.
"Well have a good...day," I repeat again and walk out pushing the door again and groan as I pull it forward and make my way to my car.
Why am I so embarrassing around him? Last time I practically knocked a picture frame off the wall. Next thing you know I'm gonna end up falling on my face or slipping on a banana peel.
After getting my coffee and heading back home to start work I ended up falling asleep for four hours on my desk.
"Lou?!" Kayla rushes into my room twisting the door open as I jolt out of my seat and fall onto the ground at the deep sound of her voice.
"What?" I ask.
"I can't find Daniel! No one can and the boys and I are starting to worry! Have you seen him?" She asks, clutching her keys in her hand, her other hand fidgeting with the doorknob.
"Last I saw him was this morning? He said...he had plans for today?" I question...plans?
"You don't think he..." I stutter grabbing my phone and seeing a voicemail left from him.
1 voicemail - daniel - 2 minutes ago.
"Hey...umm by the time you get this I might already be gone but I just wanted to say that," Daniel sighs, "For some reason, I feel like you brought out the best in me. I know you don't care about it or anything but I do. I know you can't love me back. I just hope that you'll remember me in a good way. I may have ruined your life but I think you like yourself better now. I'd prefer if you didn't tell anyone else. I don't want anyone to come looking for me because there's nothing to be found...goodbye Lou."
