Lou's POV

I managed to slip out of bed without Daniel noticing. He is a natural light sleeper but I think last night he fell asleep the best due to him being away for so long. It was hard to leave him this morning I'm not going to lie.

Daniel has been in a happy go lucky state since he left for his trip. He didn't exactly tell me the details about what happened or even why he was there, but I have faith he will tell me eventually. I don't need to be asking him questions that he isn't okay with telling. Besides, soon enough I'm hoping we can get to that level of trust.

I slip my jeans on quickly in my room, deciding on keeping the shirt I have on already. I do light natural makeup, grab my keys and my phone then head to my car. I had to stop at my place for my keys which was probably the most difficult part. Daniel's apartment door is the loudest thing in the world.

I decide to send him a small text. Letting him in about me heading to work and that we can do something tonight or for lunch. I have classes right after this and soon will be done. I plan to stay at the Perennial for most of the day. I want to finish my notes for Psychology here. Daniel always compliments my writing when he sees it.

"Hey Eben," I smile at my coworker while we both enter the cafe and put on aprons before heading behind the counter and turning on the open sign.

"Hey, Lou! Are you coming to ice skate tomorrow? Roni and I booked the rink so if you wanna join us or bring some friends you can!" Eben offers and I send him another grin before taking up his offer.

As the cafe soon flows in with people I try my best to take as many orders as possible. My brain just keeps on telling me that I only have forty-five minutes left in this shift until I go to class. That is until my phone buzzes with a message from the school pops up.

Classes will be canceled today due to some extreme weather concerns. Stay safe and calm Tarheels!

The second I read that message my head looks up on command as I watch Daniel and the whole friend group walk through the door. Eben begins to take off his apron and hang it up on the rack.

"I guess we have to turn work down too since it is on campus," he shrugs, "Do you think you can handle cleaning the place up without me? Roni wants me to meet her at the rink." Eben asks and I nod telling him everything will be fine.

I notice the major amount of snowfall piling up outside as I kindly tell guests that they should leave safely. I watch Corbyn sit at a table with Christina, Tate, and Jonah at another, Jack and Zach at one in the far corner, and Jagger with Kayla on the other corner. I hang my apron up as Daniel makes his way towards me. I can't help the tint of light pink that flashes onto my cheeks.

"You ditched me this morning for work? What's up with that?" He jokes before leaning over the counter to kiss me. His fingers lined up perfectly on my jaw and behind my ear as my hair blows from the hot air blowing out of the ac. I make my way around the counter to let Daniel wrap himself around me.

"Looks like the whole gang is here." I look over at everyone and they all turn to us waving and smiling giddily. Whispering words and bets about mine and Daniel's relationship.
