I just wanna be somebody to someone, oh
I wanna be somebody to someone, oh
I never had nobody and no road home
I wanna be somebody to someone
...

Lou's POV

The bell on the cafe door rings and I notice Daniel wall in just before his usual time. He makes his way past all the tables to the front and kisses me softly.

"You are staying to help me clean up the art for Mr. Hughes," he murmurs as I try and help the next person in line. The door rings again and I notice Jake, Lodge, and Mitch enter. Lodge puts what seems to be a vape into his pocket while Jake twists his rings on his fingers.

"I'm...gonna go to the bathroom," Daniel says, fixated on the three boys as he heads deeper into the cafe to find the restrooms.

"Morning Louise," Jake smirks and I give him a nice polite smile before taking their orders and money. Daniel still isn't back yet but I don't mind. Art and Photography doesn't start until seven pm and it is only six.

I notice Daniel come back out making his way to the door and leaving before even willing to notice me. Next thing I know I'm getting a text.

daniel
sorry my mom needs me
should've given you a kiss lovely

lou
it's okay
i could've come with you if you needed
i'll come if you want me to?

daniel
work on your wording darling
and it's fine (;

I smile at the text before putting my phone back into my bag and noticing Jake, Lodge, and Mitch leaving the cafe already. At least I won't have to deal with them.

Daniel's POV

"Aye shithead get back here!" I hear Lodge call after me. I know Jake and Mitch are with him and I'm not exactly in the mood to punch and kick balls right now.

I've already lied to Lou and I feel horrible about it. I'm going to make it up to her. Tonight I'll make it up to her tonight. Maybe I should say I love you now? I'm kind of scared. I've wanted to say that to her ever since I met her but I don't think she's ready for me to say that. I almost had the gut to tell her on New Years'.

"Dickface slow down we just wanna talk," Jake walls up next to me matching my steps. I roll my eyes before stopping in an ally way.

"We're thinking of having a party tomorrow night you wanna come?" Jake asks.

"And yeah maybe you can bring your girlfriend!" Lodge calls after him and I shake my head.

"She isn't my girlfriend," I stick to those words. I can't have them talking to her about me. And if I were to speak of her god knows what would happen. They'd probably take her away from me and tell her all of the bad things I've done.

I've been telling her a few things about me occasionally due to not wanted to keep secrets or to make sure she knows I trust her if I can't tell her I love her...yet.

"Sure sure," Mitch laughs, "Anyways we're staying late at the school tonight to play around with some girls. You should join us," he takes out a cigarette while Lodge begins to vape.

"I have a class. Maybe next week." I saying shoving into Jake's shoulder as I walk past them. I shuffle a hand through my hair letting it sit to the side. I need a hair cut.

"More excuses?" Jake snorts, "We'll tell Lou you said hi when we fuck with her tonight." I stop in my tracks. I don't turn around because of how obvious it would seem that I care about her.
