y/n's pov- i woke up slowly to the golden light resting on my face, the thin white covers hugging my body. my boyfriend, grayson, was spooning me, his face cuddled into my back as he snores softly.
my face couldn't help but plaster a smile, remembering last night how after the ball dropped, grayson dragged me to bed eagerly.
both of us tipsy from the amount of champagne we both consumed. but it was a great way to start the new year, even if i'd be sore for a week.
"baby" a mumbled grayson rasped, his fingers rubbing circles against my exposed waist . using the morning strength i had, i turned around slowly to see his beautiful face.
"happy new year" he smiled, kissing my lips gently before pulling away and yawning.
"happy new year grayson"
there was a silence that filled the room for a couple minutes, not an awkward one, but a comfortable silence as we admired each other's features.
"last night was.." he whispered, chuckling softly at the end, smiling like a goof as he held me tighter.
"tipsy?"
"tipsy" he nodded, "tipsy but amazing"
"it was wasn't it? a good way to start 2020" i say, smiling too as he nodded. he gave me another kiss, before holding me against his warm chest as he rested his chin on my head.
"i'm still tired though"
"then go back to bed, baby. we got nothing going on" i whisper, trailing my pointer finger down his chest and to his abs, tracing the small dips that formed.
"not like you can walk" he mumbled, making me roll my eyes. always so cocky, even in the morning.
"whatever, just get to bed loser"
"yeah yeah" he whispered, kissing my head before snuggling into me, "love you."
