Steve walks in HQ, facing the floor, something definitely on his mind. "It's Doris. Fbi thinks she went on the dark side." He answers even before I have a chance to ask what is wrong. "I need do go and bring her back."

"Okay." I nod. "We can leave ASAP, where is he?" You start removing your gun and badge from behind your belt.

"No, no. I have to go to Mexico alone." He clarifies. "I have to."

"What?" You stand up and walk closer to him. "You have close to zero chance of making it on your own. Let me come with you." You protest.

"It's already done. My plane leaves in ten." Steve kisses your cheek and starts walking away.

You chuckle. "After every painful thing she put you through you will risk her life? For what, so that she will betray you, lie to you, one more?" You didn't want to hear the answer so you closed the door in his face. You understood she was supposed to be his mother but you didn't know what was waiting for him out there.

Two months has passed since you heard from Steve. You had no idea if he is still alive but you prayed for his safety every night. "I got something." Junior rushed in the main room. "I have found him. He is alive and well but I guess he needs help otherwise he would already rescue her."We all looked at Danno because that's who was left in charge but Danno looked at me. "Let's make the call."

After four rings Steve picked up and as soon as he heard Dannos voice he swithed to video call. "Hey guy's how did you find me?" Steve laughed.

"Better question is what the hell attacked you?" Junior asked, looking at his boss closely. "You look horrible."

My hear sunk at the sight of the love of my life having broken lip, black eye and bloody forehead and when I hears Steve said "it was my mom, she did this" I wanted to scream but I rather just walk out on fresh air.

"Don't worry she will be okay." Tani whispered to Steve and the line went silent.

Another month has passed since we got a word that stave is coming home. You were eager to see him and throw your arms around him. His plane landed and a minute or so later, you saw him, his face covered in long beard.

You jumped in his arms as the tears fill both of your eyes. "I'm so sorry about hoe I acted. I was just..."

"It's okay." He pulled you closer and pushed you away as soon as he felt something. "What is this?"

You looked at your belly and smiled. "Oh, right I almost forgot. Congrats you're gonna be a daddy."

Steve kneeled down and cupped your round belly. "A father... This is what I always wanted."

"Just a few months to go." You kissed the top of his head. "I found out the day you told me you are leaving that is what I reacted the way I did."

Steve nodded in agreement. "Don't worry about it."

You pulled him on his feet and intertwined your fingers with his. "So your mom stayed in Canada?!"

"Yeah." He smirked. "She found someone there I guess." He opened the door for you. "I can't wait to hear everything about this little pumpkin."
