Holy fuck.
I really shouldn't have kissed Leo.
The intent was to pull away as soon as our lips touched.
All I heard was this growl.
Then he pulled me closer to him so that I was on his lap and kissed me senseless. His lips caressed mine. One of his hands were on my waist and the other on my face.
I could feel my inhibitions leaving.
Then he pulled away.
All I could do was stare at him, my eyes wide with surprise and my mouth open.
He smiled.
"You look radiantly ravishing Octavia," he breathed.
I had nothing to say.
He held my hand, the one that had his ring on my finger and squeezed it.
I felt my cheeks flush.
"Get off of my man!" screamed Dinah.
Oh yeah, they're still here.
I assessed the expressions directed at me.
Dinah looked like she wanted to murder me.
Kaila looked surprised.
Mrs. Koch had the same expression as her daughter.
Refael looked hurt.
Mr. Koch looked pale.
Leo's parents looked genuinely surprised.
Hailey had a blank look on her face.
"Good evening everyone," I said.
"Have you no shame Octy?" asked Refael, "I know I hurt you, but to ruin my sister's life? Are you serious?"
I clenched my fists.
Fuck you.
"You have no business addressing my fiancee as if you're old friends Mr. Koch," said Leo, "she has moved on and so should you. It would be so unjust to the woman you left her for."
Ouch.
Kaila looked like she wanted to disappear.
"This is all your doing!" yelled Mrs. Koch, pointing to me.
Oh, how wonderful.
"Indeed it was," I said, smiling at her, "but tell me why propose an arranged marriage and not have the future couple engaged as soon as possible? That was a stupid move on your end."
She paled and Mr. Koch simply raised a brow at me.
"You can't marry me to someone else if I'm engaged to be married," said Leo, smiling triumphantly.
"Oh but it could still happen."
All became silent as Mr Koch spoke.
"Why are we worried?" he asked, "Honestly, they're engaged. Not married. If Dinah and Leonardo marry, that's the end of their sham engagement."
The bastard.
He smirked at me as if waiting for my response.
"You're absolute garbage," I said, my body shaking.
"Why thank you Miss Hale. You'd think that your family reputation falling through...what with your mother in rehab, an adulteress sister and a dead brother; you'd focus on building your sad excuse of an empire. You really shouldn't be ambitious about marrying someone as esteemed as Leonardo Costas. You're no longer his equal," he said, fixing me a cold look.
