We got into the car and left the restaurant in record time.

The drive was silent until Mr Costas spoke.

"You and the Koch boy-"

"My ex-boyfriend," I said, looking out the window.

He whistled lowly.

"Fancy that," he muttered, "and I presume the girl he's with, he left you for..."

"Yes," I said, not bothering to deny it.

"Damn, I mean I don't know what happened, but nobody deserves to be ditched. And you're fine as hell."

I rolled my eyes but silently appreciated the comment.

"So your family is trying to marry you to Dinah...that must suck," I mused.

Imagine being bound to that brother-complexed freak just for substantial business profit.

Simply sad.

"It is a pain," he said, "Every time she and her family come over at the family mansion, I find something, anything to keep me busy. I even tell my assistant to come up with a spontaneous important task."

I laughed as I imagined him trying to dodge Dinah.

"I feel sorry for you," I said.

He laughed.

"I feel sorry for me too. The only way my dad would get off my back about marrying that girl is...never. I'm doomed."

I pat him on the shoulder.

"There, there," I said awkwardly.

He rolled his eyes.

"What are you, five?" he asked.

"Nah, twenty."

He scoffed.

"I'm telling my woes to a little girl," he said, "I must be at an all-time low."

"Yeah, you're marrying Dinah Koch, so you've been at a low the moment that happened," I pointed out, "plus she's my age."

He groaned.

"For fuck's sake. I'm a grown man. I don't have the patience to play husband to a little girl."

"Okay boomer," I said.

"I'm twenty-eight, I'm not that old."

"Okay then," I said, laughing.

He dropped me back to work.

"It was nice having lunch with you Miss Hale," he said.

"Likewise. Please, call me Octavia," I said.

"As long as you call me Leonardo. My dad is Mr Costas."

I smiled.

"Okay, Leonardo."

He smiled back.

"Take care, Octavia."

With that, he sped off, probably in search of a task to keep him occupied.

I chuckled.

A new friend.

My phone rang.

I answered it.

"Hello, Octavia Hale."
