The Start of a New Era (Koji Koda x OC)

Explanation

After a week of training had passed, Class 1-A stood at the front of the national stadium in Takoba for their provisional license exam. Mika held her hero case and stared at the building, nervous.

Mika closed her eyes, This is another step I need to take to get closer to my goal. she thought, I need to pass this. Mika felt a tap on her shoulder, making her turn her head to Koji, "Are you nervous?" he signed.

Mika nodded, "A little, but can you blame me." she said, "This exam will be a stepping stone for us to become heroes." Mika smiled, "This is something we can't fail." she continued.

Koji smiled a bit and nodded before they looked at Mr. Aizawa, "Once you pass this exam and get your provisional licenses, you'll cease to be eggs and hatch into chicks... into semi-pros." he said, "Make it count."

The students were excited and nodded, "Everyone, let's go hatch into chicks." Denki said. Eijiro grinned, "Let's hit this out of the park! On my mark! Go Plus-" before he could say the motto, a guy with dark brown hair was behind him and raised a fist in the air, "Ultra!!"

The group looked at the dark brown-haired guy, surprised, as a few people were behind him, "You know it's rude to barge into people's huddles, Inasa." the boy with purple hair said.

The dark brown-haired guy looked forward, "Ah! You're right!" he shouted. The dark brown-haired guy placed arms on his sides and slammed his head on the ground, "I'm so extremely sorry!" he shouted.

Denki pointed at the dark brown-haired guy, "Who is this guy!? I don't like his enthusiasm!" he shouted. Kyoka looked at the group, "Hey, look at their uniforms." she said.

Mika looked at the group and noticed their uniforms were dark blue with a red line on the front and red buttons, and each of them was wearing a dark blue hat with a yellow 'S' on it, "They're from the famous school in the west." she said.

Katsuki glared at the group, "U.A. in the east, Shiketsu in the west." he said. The dark brown-haired guy lifted his head, "I wanted to say it just once! Plus Ultra!" he shouted as blood started dripping from his head, "I really love U.A. High, and it's an honor to compete against you!"

As the group walked toward the building, Mr. Aizawa looked at the dark brown-haired guy, "Inasa Yoarashi." he said. Mika looked at Mr. Aizawa, "Do you know him, Sensei?" she asked.

Mr. Aizawa nodded, "He's strong." he said, shocking the students, "He's the same year as you all and received the top score on the recommendations. However, he declined it."

Mika looked at Inasa in disbelief, He was the top score on recommendations and declined U.A.'s offer! she thought, If he says he loves U.A., why would he decline it!? Hanta looked at the group, "Hold on, he said he loved U.A., and he declined the offer." he said.

Mina nodded, "What a weirdo." she said. Mr. Aizawa looked at the students, "He may be weird, but he's the real deal. Keep an eye on him." he said. "Eraser Head is that you!?" Mr. Aizawa jumped a bit and turned his head to the source.

The students turned their heads to the source and saw a woman with sea green hair and an orange bandana, a sleeveless tank top, orange gloves with metal cuffs, and vertically striped pants, "I saw you on T.V. and at the sports fest, but it's been forever since I've seen you." she said.

Mr. Aizawa was annoyed, "She looks familiar." Izuku said. The sea green-haired woman smiled at Mr. Aizawa, "Let's get married." she bluntly said, making Mina smile.

Mr. Aizawa looked at the sea green-haired woman, "No." he bluntly said; she laughed, "You're a real laugh riot, buddy." she said. Mr. Aizawa sighed as the sea green-haired woman continued laughing, "As usual, you're impossible... Joke." he said.

Izuku smiled, "Oh! That's the Smile hero: Ms. Joke! Her Quirk is Outburst!" he shouted, "She can force people to laugh around her!" Tsuyu placed her finger on her chin, "It seems like you two are close." she said.

Ms. Joke looked at the students, "Our agencies were close to each other." she said, "As young heroes striving to make a difference in the world, a mutual love bloomed."

Mr. Aizawa looked at Ms. Joke, "No, it didn't." he said; she pointed at him, "I miss your quick comebacks; you're my favorite person to tease." she said.

Mina grinned a bit, but when she turned her head to Mika, she jumped a bit when she saw her glare, "Tease on me about my hero agency being close to Koji's hero agency, and I'll scratch your eyes." she said.

Mina looked forward, slightly scared, as Koji placed his hand on Mika's shoulder, "No threatening other classmates." he quietly said. Mika was calm, "You know I wouldn't do that to her." she whispered, "I just saved us from her teasing."

Mr. Aizawa looked at Ms. Joke, "So Joke... if you're here, then that means..." he said. Ms. Joke nodded, "Yep!" she said before turning her head to the back, "Over here, everyone; this is U.A.."

The students looked at the back and saw a group of students wearing gray shirts, "Oh wow, it really is Class 1-A." the guy with black hair said. Ms. Joke looked at Mr. Aizawa, "Second years from Ketsubutsu High." she said, "They're my students."

The black-haired boy walked toward the group and held Izuku's hands, surprising him, "Hey, I'm Yo Shindo." he said, "It's a pleasure to meet you." Yo shook some of the group's hands with a smile, "I think from now on that every hero needs an indomitable spirit." he continued.

Mika eyed Yo, No one is that friendly other than Midoriya and Koji. she thought, Something's up with him. Yo held his hand to Katsuki, "It'd be an honor to hone my skills with partners of your caliber." he said.

Katsuki swatted Yo's hand, "Don't patronize me; your eyes don't match your smile." he said. Yo grinned, "Knock it off, man!" Eijiro shouted before turning his head to him, "Sorry about that." Yo shook his head, "It's fine." he said, "It's just proof that he has an iron will."

Mr. Aizawa looked at his students, "Orientation is about to start; get changed into your hero costumes." he said. The students nodded, "Yes, sir." they said before entering the building.

(Time Skip)

Mika stood with a crowd of students in the building in her hero costume, "It's a good thing I'm not claustrophobic." she said to herself.

Mika faced the podium and saw a man with beige hair in a tired state, "Right... let's begin orientation." he said, "My name is Mera with the public safety of heroics committee, and my favorite kind of sleep is non-rem sleep."

Mera placed his hand over his head, "However, I've been so busy with work that I can't catch a break." he continued, "And now that I have espoused our principles, I shall explain how the exam will be conducted."

Mika looked at Mera, worried, He doesn't care to show his exhaustion; is he OK? she thought. Mera looked at the group, "About 1,540 examinees are attending this exam, and you'll be vying for victory all at once." he said, "However, only the first one hundred to clear the terms will advance."

Some of the group was worried, "Here's how this'll work: each examinee will have three targets, and you can place them anywhere except for the armpits and the soles of your feet." Mera continued, "You'll also carry six balls on your person."

Mera held a target in one hand and a ball in the other hand. As Mera touched the target with the ball, it glowed red, "We built the targets to respond to the contact of the balls only." he said.

Mera looked at the group, "If all three targets are hit, you're out, and whoever hits your targets means that they have defeated you." he continued, "To pass, you must defeat two people." Mika nodded, This'll be a lot tougher than the entrance exam. she thought.
