Nicole's POV
Ever since Friday, we have been busy. Making sure everything was set for Sunday. I called into work saying I couldn't be there on Sunday, because of Delilahs birthday. My manager was pissed, we were going to be busy. I figured I would work something out, I couldn't miss the party.
I felt my bed creaking, small giggles being heard. A smile slipped on my lips, and I pulled Delilah close to me. "Today is my party!" Delilah smiled, wriggling around in the warm blankets. "Yes I know, you need lots of cuddles and kisses!" I said, peppering kisses on her face. "I like cuddles." Delilah sighed happily. "Daddy should be here soon, we have to go get the avenue ready. You are going to stay with Jasmine for a bit, we are going to be moving tables and things, I don't want you getting hurt." I explained.
We made my bed together, then went to the kitchen. "Would you like...a chocolate smoothie?" I hummed, taking out the milk. "Yeah...can I help?" Delilah asked. I nodded, taking out a container of chocolate Ovaltine. I let Delilah scoop a few tablespoons of that in the blender, while I added a cup of milk. I pulsed it for a few seconds, to get it mixed. I poured it in a minion cup, slotting a pink straw in it. I handed her the cup, and a bag or trail mix. "Thank you." Delilah said, going to the table and sitting down.
She had her my little pony pajamas on, hair messily tied in a ponytail. I was wearing gray sweatpants and a red flannel, with white slippers. I served myself a small bowl of cinnamon oatmeal with blueberries, and a glass of milk. I spooned the mushy mixture in my mouth, the blueberries giving me some actual flavor. I drank my milk, and washed my dishes. I took my pill and put in my brace. Soon I heard a straw scraping at the bottom of an empty cup. "All done?" I asked, Delilah nodded. I picked her cup up, tossing her straw in the trash.
There was a prompt knock on the door, making Delilah jump. "It's probably just daddy, princess." I said, my suspicions were correct. He was carrying several pink gift bags, tops overflowing with glittery tissue paper. "Happy birthday, Delilah." Justin smiled, tossing the bags on the couch, and embracing Delilah in his arms. "are we ready?" He asked. "I think so, just gotta get Delilah to Jasmines'." I breathed.
"Well let's get going then, my car." Justin said, picking up Delilah and carrying her out of the lobby and into his car. I got my purse and locked the door, and headed out.
When we arrived at Jasmines' house, Delilah was asleep. I carefully scooped her wobbly, loose body in my arm and knocked on the door. A sleepy Jasmine in a duck sleeping robe, eyelids droopy. "Ooh, tough night?" I asked, noticing the coffee mug in her hand. "Yeah..Ryan didn't want to go to sleep, she barely did." Jasmine yawned, taking a large gulp of the black coffee. "You won't have any troubles with Delilah, she's asleep." I assured. "Oh she is always good, just take her upstairs to my room." Jasmine nodded, letting me in.
I wandered throughout the house until I found Jasmines bedroom, and I gently laid Delilah on the bed, covering her in a loose blanket. I thanked Jasmine, and got back in the car. "Drive to the avenue please, the company that is dropping off the tables will be there soon." I said, Justin nodded and started the engine. He drove to the avenue, which was painted white. The owners let us in, and gave us a pair of keys for the night. There is lots of free space in front of the avenue which I'm planning to put the jumper and stuff.
The tables got dropped off, and we covered them with pink tablecloths. We organized the tables in a symmetrical pattern, with four chairs each table, roughly enough for at least 30 people. We put the table toppers on each table, and everything started to come together. We blew balloons and put streamers everywhere, it was so pretty. We picked up the food; We got the table for that ready, with the warmers under them. We put the cake in the cooler, and the bouncy house for dropped off, the guy helped us set it up. We had the piñatas in the back, ready to go.
