Chapter 19
A Trip to the Past
NOVA
I had an eerie feeling of déjà vu like we've already seen this from the Burning World.
Soldiers rushed forward with plasma bullets and grenades, hundreds of armored tanks blasted onwards and made the land explode.
Masses of artillery from the Ordinaries side bombarded the Villains with fiery explosion, even up above the dark clouds and red sky, airships and fighter aircrafts are attacking the Villains soaring in the sky.
My heart was torn apart and shattered by the sight of a brutal war.
Thousands, or possibly, millions of Superheroes, Villains, and Ordinaries lie dead on the ground, the ones who are still fighting back are the Villains with a white mask in their faces against humanity.
This is too much. I couldn't bear the thought that this actually happened to us.
"Roman, konektado ba ito sa Burning World? Ito ba 'yon?" Sunud-sunod kong tanong.
"It looks so similar, right? But this isn't the Burning World." Roman bit his lower lip and turned his back from the sight of the war. I reached for his hand and squeezed it.
The land and sky became a warzone.
"Is that..." August's voice trembled and tears welled up in his eyes. "Is that my mother?!"
She's commanding orders to the Villains to fall back and retreat, but some Villains still stayed to fight.
"She's on the Villains side but she's human. An Ordinary." August voice became soft and quiet.
"It could just be a coincidence."
"My mother is helping them. Paano siya nabuhay sa panahon nito? How? Matagal na 'yan nangyari. Maybe more than a century ago."
"August, she can't be your mother. Matagal na ito nangyari. Paano ka mabubuhay kung ngayon siya pinanganak?" Soren argued.
"I don't know! I just had this feeling it's her!" August persist while watching his mother retreat the battlefield in an aircraft with the other.
She would be dead by that time, pero sinabi niya sa amin na nasa coma siya sa ospital.
