Battle of the Superheroes

A sea of crowd surrounded the arena, cheering and echoing their noises through the air. There is a wide open space at the center of arena and another arched doorway leading another path from the other side.

It must be where they're going to enter the battlefield.

Nasilayan ko ang Founders at iba pang estudyante ng Heroteria Castle na nagtipon para mapanuod ang aming labanan. Nahagilap ko si Roman na sinusundan ako ng tingin at serioso ang kanyang ekspresyon.

"Welcome to the Heroes Arena! This is where the most powerful and topnotch  battle with their unique Oddities fighting against top Superheroes!" Anunsyo ng hologram host at naghiyawan ang mga tao sa paligid.

Isa-isa lumabas ang litrato ng mga competitors sa hologram screen. Ang mga magiging kalaban namin ay nanggagaling sa WDA, Hero Enforcers, at Paragons. Iba't-ibang kapangyarihan at personalidad, pero lahat ay delikado kapag nakalaban.

Nakatayo kami ni Maxllow sa ilalim ng arkong entryway. Kami kasi ang unang lalaban sa arena.

"I don't want to fight back, Nova. I used to fight in battles, but that's because it's always a robot. I don't want to hurt anyone." Pag-amin ni Maxllow na may bahid ng pag-aalala sa kanyang ekspresyon.

"Me too. This is all wrong. We shouldn't be fighting like this." Pagsang-ayon ko sa kanya sabay napalunok ako.

Kinkabahan ako sa magiging kalabasan ng aming labanan. Ayokong makasakit ng ibang tao. Gusto kong gamitin ang aking kakayahan na makatulong sa kapwa, hindi ang gamitin ito sa maling paraan.

Kung hindi kami lumaban, matatalo kami at magiging parte ng kami ng gobyerno, mawawala kami sa Heroteria Castle. Kung lumaban naman kami, baka masaktan pa sila sa amin.

"Roman, what should we do?" I asked through the intercom with a worried face. I found him again through the crowd and he waves at me with a smile.

"Just be yourself, my darling." Roman whispered in response, through a private message again. "You are going to fight against the top Superheroes around the world, a lot that I admire. But I'm putting all my life betting on my Supernova, and you will win regardless."

Huminga ako nang malalim. "You sure?"

"I'll be here cheering for you. I am your number one fan after all." He chuckled. The sound of his voice calmed me down and it made me smile. That feels reassuring and a relief to hear from him.

"Supernova, the Hero of Galaxy!"

Una akong naglakad papasok. May mga pumapalakpak at nagchicheer mula sa mga kaklase namin at sa Founders, but the rest of the crowd are silent.

"And Max Punch, the Hero of Strength!"

Sumunod naman si Maxllow. Nagulat ako nang maraming nag-boo sa kanya at hinahagisan pa siya ng mga basura nila. Naghiyawan naman ang mga kasama namin para suportahan siya ngunit mas nangingibabaw pa rin sa madla.

"Prisoner!"

"Ibalik na 'yan sa kulungan!"

"Isa 'yan kriminal!"

Kahit mapapait ang mga salita na binubuhos sa kanya ng madla, patuloy lang si Maxllow na ngumiti sa mundo na kanyang hinaharap.

"They will battle against the newcomers! These two are the high class officers in World Defenders Association! Here comes Shield, the Hero of Defense, and Force, the Hero of Gravity!" Anunsyo ng host.
