Chapter 1

12 years later
"Beep,""beep,""beep,""click."

"Uhhh I shouldn't of stayed up till three in the morning reading that stupid book," I said to myself sounding like a zombie wanting brains.

As I got out of bed and got dressed into the white uniforms that the orphanage gives you to wear. I looked out of my barred window and I saw a man looking at me. He was in a black suit with a white tie, he also had a top hat on. When I looked at him he turned around and left.

"I wonder who that was, it doesn't matter all I want to know is why he was looking at my window," I said with curiosity in my voice.

"Ding,dong,"

"Breakfast time everybody get up and wait by your door so we can let you out!" yelled out the bell ringer guy. I call him the bell ringer guy because I don't know who he is.

I walked up to my door and waited for the guy to open it so I can go and eat. I couldn't wait to go down there and tell my friend Jane what I saw. The guy came to my door and looked at me for a while before he opened my door. I walked down the hall towards the stairs the lead to the cafeteria. I looked at the menu for today "sausage and strawberry pancakes" I looked at the pancakes with worried eyes wondering how this will taste because everything they make tastes like crap.

"Hey Kizzy over here I saved you a spot in the line," yelled Jane from across the cafeteria.

I walked over to her she looked happier than usual today and she was bouncing up and down like someone gave her an energizer shot.

" I looked out my window this morning and saw this man staring at me he wore a black suit and a top hat, did you see any one outside your window this morning Jane?" I asked and I hoped she would say yes.

"No sorry Kizzy you just might be seeing things because tonight is the full moon you know what that means weird stuff will happen ohhhh," Jane said with a spooky voice.

We sat down at our regular table by the window that was facing the gardens. Jane still had a huge smile on her face and was shaking her legs up and down.

"Jane what's got into you today you're acting all hyper today, what happened?" I asked with concern for my friend.

"Kizzy I have been here for ten years waiting for someone to take me home, and yesterday that lady at the front came to me and told me that someone came in and wanted to adopt a child. She said they wanted to look at my file only and they looked at it and they immediately said we'll take with one. So know they are coming to get me today at lunch time," Jane said with excitement in her voice.

"Wow Jane, I'm so happy for you I hope they treat you well," I told her.

"I'm sorry Kizzy I know that we are best friends and we never leave each other but I promise you I will call or visit okay,"

"Okay"

At noon Jane left with her new parents, we said our good byes. After she was gone I did all of the chores in the kitchen, because I volunteered to help clean there, I went up to my room to relax. The bell guy was at my door with my supper. It was meatloaf and rice even though the food was bad I was hungry after all that work.after I ate I looked out my window and saw the full moon. When I looked at it my head started to ache, I sat on my bed and laid down and fell asleep within a second.
