Six a.m.
These are the hours I like the least
Night time is losing it’s grip to the sun
Everything feels a little lighter
More real
As for me I fight off sleep
Try to find that one last line
I know I have a poem in me
If I just keep going
Poetry is no way to end the day
Lost love or family members now gone
I set my pen down for a nap
And dreamed a dead relative was haunting
A lost friend
How can I be 42 now?
I tried so hard to stay a youth
Too many nights like this
Pushing myself to stay awake
Then sleeping the day away
Poetry you are my bane
I love you but you destroy me
You make strong joints arthritic
You make bright eyes long
For darkness
And yet I must keep pursuing you
Poetry you dark goddess
There is something in you
That makes life beautiful
Worth living

Poems From Inside Me
PoetryThis is a chapbook of poetry that led me to dedicate myself to writing, whether it be for money or simply to express myself. In this book I talk about family, love, loss and all the illusions that life brings us through.
