Habits
Can you say what it would mean to you
That I love you from my heart so real and true
I have known you half my forty years of life
Even though now you are another’s wife
Somehow I can talk to you about things deep inside
Your friendship is so much bigger than my pride
Though we have changed a bit as time went past
We found a friendship strong enough to last
There were times when you hurt yourself
With substances that ruined your health
And still you have a vice or two
That makes me worry about losing you
There may be a day when you are gone
And I will have to just live on
My head will hang, my heart will be heavy
My words will not be quite so steady
You have become like a sister oh so close
I call you up each day for my dose
Of your caring voice and biting wit
What will become of me if I must do without it
I lost my mom a few years back
And I know one day I shall also lack
My Dad and brother, and a few good friends
Please try and stay with me until the end
When you smoke your cigs you take away
A day of life from each pack they say
When you drink your booze and not eat enough
You hasten the end even if you are tough
Each moment that we have upon this earth
Is to prove between our death and birth
That we can love our creator and our families true
So stop all this because we all love you

Poems From Inside Me
PoezieThis is a chapbook of poetry that led me to dedicate myself to writing, whether it be for money or simply to express myself. In this book I talk about family, love, loss and all the illusions that life brings us through.
