Slow the Insanity
I looked out of my window
To see the green green grass and trees
I opened up my window
To feel the softening breeze
It doesn’t really seem to me
That people understand
What a precious thing we have
In this green green land
I want to run on the prairies
Over a hill or two
Then roll in all the sunshine made
Yellow grass moist from dew
I want to challenge the rockies
Climb until I can see them all
Bring along a parachute
Just in case I fall
I want to ride a fishing boat
In our glorious Newfoundland
And hike through northern forests
Then I will be able to say I’m a real Canadian man
But only if I challenge
The Northern climes as well
While looking up at dancing sheets
Of light that from God’s hands fell
Beverly
I think of my Mother often
Three years now
Without her
When I think of her
In so much pain
Needing everyone’s help
I think of those last moments
I sat beside her
Held her hand
Watched as she breathed slower
Slower
Stopped
Her eyes wouldn’t close
But she was gone
Will anyone be there
If I go like that?
I loved her so
She’s watching me
From above

Poems From Inside Me
PoesiaThis is a chapbook of poetry that led me to dedicate myself to writing, whether it be for money or simply to express myself. In this book I talk about family, love, loss and all the illusions that life brings us through.
