A Year In the Life
Springtime life's all glory
So happy never sorry
Ride a bike parents bought you
Listening to what they taught you
Happiness and friendship never ending
No need back then to keep pretending
Saying you don't need others
To be happy or find lovers
Summer days
Sun shining
Still a youth
But forgotten
First car first kiss
So precious
Taste of beer
Delicious
Leave home broke
Seeking new adventures
Miss your folks
But won't admit it
Have to go to work just to pay
For a little fun for just one day
Seems to be no real way
To reunite with old friends and say
You miss them in a special
Way
Growing older
Summer fading
Autumn comes
Feel the aging
Soon a child
Just like you
Eyes like mom
She hears you say
And thanks you
Troubled times but better
Better late that never
A little travel for the children
A few words you need to give them
Trying to be a loving father
So many wouldn't bother
Kids grow up and leave you
Proud of them but they never see you
Finally December
Long life of work
Remember
Being young
And crazy
Looking dumb
And lazy
Made it here want to rest now
Grandchildren come you're blessed now
Days into weeks
Keep on fading
No more time for anger
Or hating
See grandchild just one more time
Happiness and joy sublime
So much love inside you
Old but the world seems new
Breath is heavy
Chest is hurting
The end comes soon so peaceful
Going to miss so many people

Poems From Inside Me
PoetryThis is a chapbook of poetry that led me to dedicate myself to writing, whether it be for money or simply to express myself. In this book I talk about family, love, loss and all the illusions that life brings us through.
