5:26 pm FRIDAY OCTOBER 11th: ANITTA'S 4th BIRTHDAY!
*my door bell rings
I open it and see Ethan holding up a gallon of ice cream and a gift.
"Party time" He smiles and kisses me as he comes in putting the stuff on the kitchen table.
I giggle.
"Ani is still taking her nap so let's hurry up and decorate." I quietly speak.
He nods.

I light up the candles on the cake I made for Anitta and walk upstairs with Ethan.
Ethan is wearing a birthday hat and brings another one for Anitta.
"Happy birthday to you... Happy birthday to you" we begin to sing.
She starts to wake up and rub her eyes.
"Happy birthday dear Anitta, happy birthday to you!" We finish.
Anitta has a surprise look.
"Cake!" Is all she says and dips her finger in the cake to taste it.
Ethan and I look at each other before laughing.
"Blow the candles Ani" Ethan says as he puts the party hat on her head.
She blows the candles and we clap.

We're downstairs finishing our cake and ice cream while Anitta opens up her gifts.
"Open mine first!" Ethan rushes to her excitedly.
She opens the gift to see a pink stuffed pet bunny and giggles.
"Tantsss Etan!" she goes up to Ethan and hugs him.
My heart.
She opens up my gift next to see a Barbie doll.
"Tantsss Valwe!" She smiles and hugs me
We're finishing our food when the door busts open and we all flinch to see my mom.
She's falling as she tries to keep her balance.
She's drunk.
"Valeria" she says with her eyes shutting.
"Mom please not now." I look at Anitta that's scared in Ethan's arms.
"I miss him but- I hate- hate him" she stutters.
"Mom you're drunk, let me take you to your bed."
I look at Ethan as I take my mom up to let him know I'll be back soon.
He's holding Anitta and runs to lock the door.
I come back down and apologize.
"It's okay Val." He calms me down.
I start to cry but then hold my tears in for Anitta.
"It's just- I don't want her to grow up like I did. I look at Anitta as she plays with her new gifts.
"I know it's hard Val but you'll get through this." He hugs me.
I hug him back tightly.
"Today is her birthday and she doesn't even care." I sniffle.
"Hey, as long as you and I are here with her is all that matters, okay?" He holds my cheeks and looks into my eyes.
"Okay." I hug him again and he caresses my hair.

8:00 pm
We clean up and tuck Anitta in her bed.
"I love you Valwe"
"I love you too."
"I love you Etan" she smiles
Ethan quickly looks at me and then at her.
"I love you too Ani." He gives a kiss on her forehead and moves her hair out of her face.
I love Ethan so much right now!
We walk out closing her door and I smile at Ethan.
"We did it!" He hugs me
"Thank you so much Ethan."
He kisses me. This time it feels different. I feel sparks the way he's kissing me.
"Why don't you stay the night?" I whisper
"I would love that." He whispers back before kissing me again.
