Months later...
It's September 7th, a day before I have to go back to school.
Senior year.
I finished the last seven months of school at home resting.
The rest of the students didn't go back to school after the incident until a month later. The principal had to make sure it was safe for them to return.
I heard Monique got eleven years of prison.
I wasn't able to go to court because of my situation but my mother went and pressed charges.
Maria and Alondra always visited me and spilled the tea about everything that went on the last months of junior year.
Ethan moved on.
Of course he did.
My mom always went to pick up my school work and dropped it back off when I completed the work.
My grandparents came to live with us to help my mom out with taking care of Anitta and I while she left to work.
Well mostly Anitta, I spent my time in my room, trying to get over Ethan but it ended up with me crying myself to sleep.
I didn't eat most days.
And I decided to change my style.
If I was going to try and get over Ethan I had to put him in the past and put myself out there to meet other boys.
I had to live life the right way, especially now that I was a Senior.
The last year of high school has to be the year for me.
Ethan can't stop me.

SEPTEMBER 8th: FIRST DAY OF SENIOR YEAR!
I step out of Maria's black truck.
I'm wearing black sun glasses, a one piece body laced suit with jeans, black belt, white air forces, and a white fuzzy coat.
My hair is nice and wavy and I got a trim.
I felt like a whole different person.
This wasn't who I am, but I liked it. I like this new version of myself.
Behind me came Alondra with black jeans and a white crop top.
Maria had skinny jeans and a red hoodie.
Their styles hadn't changed but mine has.
I open the door and we enter the hallways.
Some people stare as they talk, others are fixing their lockers or getting their schedules.
"It's great to see you Valeria!"
"We're so happy that you're okay!"
Some students I've never spoke to come up to me smiling.
"Thanks" I smile.
"Damn Valeria looking mighty fine! Dang!" I hear somebody say.
I turn around and see a cute looking boy smiling.
"I could say the same for you." I say taking my sunglasses off and flirting back with him.
After I say that I see Ethan.
He's staring at me as he holds his locker door open.
My smile fades and I wrap my coat around me to cover my chest.
He looks like he's about to say hi but then a girl comes.
