I walked into the small coffee shop expecting to see Jack there. But he wasn't. The smell of muffins and coffee made me think of my grandmother. It had been a very long time since I had last seen her.
I smiled at the waitress who was behind the counter and walked towards the far corner. I sat down and watched the door. My legs were shaking under the table. I was nervous. I didn't know how awkward this was going to be. I was hoping it wasn't going to be awkward, but it probably was. After all, the last time I had seen Jack was when his lips had left mine.
After what seemed like a very long time I finally saw him enter the coffee shop. My heart skipped at least a thousand beats. He had a blue denim jacket on, white shirt and black jeans. He looked irresistible. He looked around the coffee shop until his eyes met mine. I thought I was going to die. He began to walk closer to me. I wondered if I should took away. But I couldn't, his eyes held mine until he was sitting down across from me.
''Hi'' He said quietly and slightly smiled. I swallowed hoping my mind would remember how to say hello.
''I'm sorry about what happened yesterday with Jake and everything...'' He ran his hand through his hair. He seemed nervous. My mind still hadn't come up with a hello.
''I have never done that with anyone before'' He shut his eyes for a moment and smiled. ''I mean, I have kissed people...I mean, girls, not a lot. Like I...''
I couldn't help but laugh. My stomach was filled with butterflies.
''I get it '' I spoke. About time I thought.
''No, I'm sorry I like you... a lot. And I just couldn't help myself''
What? Did he say what I thought he just said? Could he repeat it? More seductively, possibly into my ear, whilst playing with my hair? Fuck, help me. I should calm, I took a deep breath and that didn't help me. I could feel heat in my cheeks. This wasn't good.
''You look cute when you do blush' The corner of his mouth turned up. I couldn't allow myself to get this deep. I had to sort things out with Liam first. I had to.
''I liked it.'' Oh where did that come from? Jack grinned. I wanted to throw myself at him. I held on to the chair that I was sitting on in case I accidentally spiralled out and did throw myself at him.
''Me too' Jack said.
At that point a waitress came up to our table, her eyes widened when she saw Jack. She probably knew who he was.
''Can I get you anything?'' She asked looking at me and then looking at Jack for a moment too long. Jack smiled politely at the waitress and then turned to me.
''What would you like?'' He asked me.
''Hot chocolate'' I replied. Who doesn't love that?
''Two hot chocolates please'' Jack told the waitress and she smiled. Her smile not reaching her eyes.
''You like hot chocolate?'' I asked.
''Just because I'm somewhat famous now doesn't mean I don't like hot chocolate'' Jack replied.
Oh some one shoot me before I have a heart attack. Suddenly my phone rang and I felt a cold shiver run down my back. What if Liam was calling?
''Excuse me'' I said to Jack and stood up and walked outside. I took the phone out my pocket with shaking hands and looked at the screen. Releaf washed over me. It was Dani.
''Hello'' I picked up trying to keep my voice stable.
''Hey, can we meet up, I got so much to tell you'' Her voice seemed different. Good different though.
''Um...'' I looked back into the coffee shop where Jack was sitting at the table looking down at his phone.
''I got something going on right now... can I call you when I'm free?'' I asked feeling bad for ditching my friend for Jack.
''Sure, no problem, I'll be at my hotel room'' She said and we said our goodbyes.
I put the phone back into my pocket and walked back inside the coffee shop.
''Everything alright?'' Jack asked as I sat down.
''Yeah''
The waitress came back and set down two white cups of hot chocolate.
''Can I take a picture of you'' She suddenly asked Jack. That bitch she should stay away.
Jack looked at me as if asking me for my permission.
''Go ahead'' I forced a smile. I didn't even have a picture with them. Then again, I guess having him kiss me and then drink hot chocolate with him seems better than taking a picture with him.
As I watched Jack and the waitress take a picture I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. What now?
It was a text. From Liam.
I'm in London tomorrow, we need to talk.
Shit.
