Fiona's Point Of View

''Where is he taking you?'' I asked Dani. She was at my house, we had sat down to watch a movie. I didn't even know what we were watching. We hadn't stopped talking since she came over.

''If only I knew'' Dani half laughed. 

''So you have no idea where he is taking you?''

'Nope, he hasn't even contacted me me since Sunday night when we last spoke. I mean, I don't mind, I'm not patiently waiting for him to call''

''Right'' I laughed and Dani only rolled her eyes. 

''What about Jack, where is he taking you?'' Dani asked, changing the subject. No doubt wondering why Jake hadn't called her.

''It's not a date, we are just meeting up for a drink, at the same cafe shop as last time'' I said. I mean it was only a drink, yet I felt so excited for it. Who wouldn't? If Jack Walton was going to take you out for a drink I'm sure you'd be trying to not jump up and down with joy. 
Except maybe I could have been more happier about it all. I had broken up with my boyfriend and Jack didn't even know about it. But did he have to know about it? I'm sure he didn't. It was none of his business. Well, I did break up with Liam because of Jack, but either way Jack wasn't meant to know that I ever had a boyfriend.

I liked Jack and from what I knew, Jacked liked me. Maybe things could progress from there. This was the first time in a while that I felt this way towards anyone.

''Right, so not a date, has Liam tried contacting you?''

'No...'' I replied but that got me thinking. It was weird, I mean I wasn't too full of myself, but he should have contacted me.  I mean to talk or try see if him and I could have another chance...
Maybe I was too full of myself, maybe he really did hate me and I broke his heart. What else did I expect?

''So you want him to call you?'' Dani was watching my face. Did I?

''No, why would you say that?''

''From the way your facial expression changed when I mentioned Liam, it seems like you aren't too sure about the whole break up thing. Maybe you over reacted, I mean what if things can't work out with Jack?'' 

Dani might have a point, but I surely didn't overreact. I wasn't happy with Liam, why would I stay in a relationship that didn't make me happy? It wasn't like we were married or had promised each other to stay together until forever. Well, I never did, he had. But what are you going to do?

''Oh look the movie is over'' I said glancing at the credits. 

''You didn't answer me.''

''Ok, I didn't overreact'' I said standing up and going over to my DVD collection. It wasn't big to be honest.'' 

''Want to watch Barbie?'' I asked picking up my sisters old DVD of Barbie and the Swan Lake.

''Definitely, I need some inspiration for my date with Jake tomorrow'' Dani grinned and got herself comfortable.

''Let me get some drinks from the fridge'' I said after putting in the DVD.

''Bring me water'' Dani shouted.

''You don't drink water'' I shouted back.

''I got to look healthy for tomorrow'' 

''Of course'' 

I grabbed a coke for myself and a big bottle of water for Dani and walked back to the living room. 

''Wow thanks how generous'' Dani smiled at me sarcastically as she opened the water bottle.

Before the movie started my phone buzzed in my pocket. I hoped it wasn't Liam. 
It was an unknown number...

''Hello?'' I said wondering who was calling me.

''Fiona?'' Jack's voice almost made me have a heart attack.

''Jack? How did you get my number?'' I asked, almost choking on my tongue.

''You have a boyfriend?''

Oh no. 

''What?'' I asked. Dani was watching me like a hawk.

''Larry or something'' Jack seemed angry. Oh fuck my life. This wasn't happening.

''He's not my boyfriend.''

''Right, so who is this guy claiming to be the love of your life? '' 

''He's my ex boyfriend, Jack you have to understand'' 

Why was this even happening? Had Liam actually gone to find Jack and tell him about being my boyfriend? How messed up does one have to be? Was he really that heart broken and jealous? I couldn't believe this. I felt so sick, I wanted to punch Liam in the face and break his nose.

''Did he give you my number?'' I asked.

''Yes, I don't know what or who to believe'' Jack seemed to have calmed down a bit. 

''Believe me, Liam is my ex boyfriend alright? I can't believe he actually found you.'' 

'Yeah, can we rain check tomorrow? I have to rehears with Mel, things aren't the way I want them to be.'' Jack suddenly sounded really distant. As if talking about something completely different.

''Um...yeah...'' I said, feeling a lump in my throat, this was perfect. This was exactly what I needed. From the look on Dani's face I knew she could hear the conversation. She was giving me a look that meant she was probably thinking of different way she could strangle Liam.

''Great, bye'' Jack said and hung up. I held the phone to my ear for a while, taking deep breaths, trying to get myself to calm down. I shouldn't make this a big deal. He wasn't canceling our ''catch up'' because of Liam. He had a perfectly good excuse.

''Do you want me to beat up Liam? '' Dani asked sincerely. The way she asked it so casually made me laugh. 

''Thanks but I'll do it myself'' 

It seemed like I was going to have to talk to Liam tomorrow. What a great way to spend my Friday night. 

''Let's watch the movie'' I said pressing play.

''Are you sure you're fine?'' Dani asked.

''I am, yes.'' I answered. No I wasn't I wanted to punch Liam so hard his mothers mother would feel the impact.

''Ok...'' Dani said and took a drink from the two litre bottle of water.

I curled up on the sofa and decided to watch Barbie without thinking of how much I was going to hurt Liam tomorrow. There was no doubt that I had hurt Jack, and I hated that. I didn't want him to be hurt over something that was probably, entirely my fault. I broke up with Liam, why did he have to go and ruin my happiness? It was kind of understandable why he did it, but I didn't see a reasonable point. It wasn't like I was going to suddenly run back to Liam and tell him that he was the love of my life. Please.
