3rd person pov
Oliver was a boy who was raised with parents who didn't understand. His dad believed in tough love. He thought his son was just exaggerating when he told him about the bullying. He was sure the school wouldn't let their students say or do such horrible things.
Oli grew up believing no one would ever fall in love with him.
That he'd be lonely forever,
That he'd never meet someone
To make him feel like the world. He got moved to the back of the class
So he would stop getting bombarded by spit balls in elementary. But the school halls were much worse, like a battleground. He used to stay inside for recess
Because outside was worse.
Outside he'd have to rehearse running away or learn to stay still like statues so no prying eyes will see the movement at attack. Kids are like cats to movement. If a weird moment happens they try to catch it and play with it.He was the quiet kid just trying to stay out of the bullies way. He stopped complaining to his parents. He realized this world was in a war and everyone was in it. From what it seems nobody was on his side so he stopped looking. Lonely was better than your friends stabbing you in the back, or front.
He started therapy in 8th grade,
Had a personality made up of tests and pills. Lived like the uphills were mountains and the downhills were cliffs. The avalanche of anti depressants didn't help, they just put him in autopilot.
He tried to kill himself in grade ten
When a kid who could still go home to mom and dad. Had the audacity to tell him "get over it" when his dad died.
As if depression is something that can be remedied by any of the contents found in a first aid kit.
His mother use to tell him, "If you can't see anything beautiful about yourselfGet a better mirror,
Look a little closer,
Stare a little longer,
Because there's something inside youthat made you keep trying.
Despite everyone who told you to quit
You didn't. Because maybe you didn't belong to a group or a click
Maybe they decided to pick you last for basketball or everything."That help sometimes but to this day he still feels like he's not good enough. Oliver met Mitch Lucker in grade ten a few weeks after trying to kill himself and that body dragged him out of his thoughts.
He showed him how to open up and love. They were in love and for once Oliver felt like the world to someone. He felt like he has purpose in life. No matter how suicidal or depressed he got Mitch was there for him.
When he died Oli was devastated and tried to kill himself but when he woke up in the hospital he remember all the times he relapsed and Mitch cried over him. Mitch had made the boy promise to try to get better. Being in that hospital bed was the opposite of what Mitch would have wanted.
So after he got out he tried to get help. He went to rehab for a while. Got off his medication that fuzzed his brain and blocked emotions and tried to move on. He ended up getting attached to Josh.
He turned a blind eye to the bad in the relationship because he thought if Josh wasnt there he would be alone again. Loneliness scares Oliver so he fought so hard to keep the relationship. No break up could keep him from trying again.
That is until Josh crossed a line and Oliver knew he had to forget him. He tried to work on being okay with having nobody and he got to a good point and found kellin. That's were he is now.
He's getting happier but could his attachment issues become a problem or keep them together for the better? How does he know kellin isn't just as bad as josh but he's just to hopeful and cant see it?
