<Paige's P.O.V> Location~ on flight to Burgess
11:55 pm
I tucked a pink curly lock behind my ear as I looked thoughtfully out the planes window. I glanced at the bright full moon, my blue/grey eyes glistening from the tears I previously cried before my flight. I rested my head on the seats headrest as my mind played back the farewells from my wonderful family who adopted me years ago.
"I-I guess this is..goodbye." I fiddled with my necklace attempting to not let the tears slip from my watery eyes. Though I am older than Madelyn I'm still more of a crybaby compared to the fourteen year old. "I..I guess so." She swayed back and forth on her heels as she smiled at me, as if trying to hold back her own waterfall of tears to reassure me everything will be alright. Father stood beside her smaller form looking at me with a mixture of joy, sadness and fear in his eyes. He placed a hand on Madelyns shoulder then walked towards me. He came to a stop and looked down at me proudly. "Me and your sister will sure miss you Paige. And, remember. We're family..if you need us then you know where to find us, alright?" He glanced at me once more before he walked back to where I was unable to see his teared up eyes, he despised it when people see him cry. I glanced at them then spun on my heel, letting the waterfall of tears to spill out. As I was speed walking to the plane I was meant to board Madelyn shouted out. "Paige, wait!" I sniffled and as soon as I turned around I was tackled by Madelyns tight embrace. "Miss..I hate to interrupt, but the plane's about to take off." We pulled apart from the last hug we'd ever share before she smiled at me sadly and went to stand next to our father. I smiled nodding to the flight attendant wiping my eyes then waved goodbye to my loved ones. I began to gradually follow the fancy looking flight attendant and right before I was out of ear shot I heard my overly optimistic sister shout.."I hope Y/N Bennett is the Marceline to your Princess Bubblegum!"
"Would you like a neck pillow miss?" I jumped slightly, realizing I was deep in thought and smiled at the friendly flight attendant apologetically. "I-I'm sorry. I hope y-you weren't standing here too long waiting for me to snap out of it." I giggled nervously while she just gave me a warm smile. "Not at all miss. So, would you like to request one? A neck pillow?" I shook my head no. "No, thank you." She nodded then walked away to check on other passengers. I sighed. "I wonder h-how Y/N will react to me. I hope we won't become sisters who live as mortal enemies always against each other." Many questions attacked my mind as I drifted off to sleep.
Why's it so dark? "H-Hello?" My eyes adjusted to the midnight black area, but, I however still seen nothing in sight. It's as if I had been sucked into the freaking twilight zone. In the distance I saw a bright luminescent figure. Or at least what I thought was a figure. "..Hello? Do y-you know where we are?" I cautiously made my way closer to the only light in the darkness, using my arm to shade my eyes from it. "What the actual what?" In front of me was a full moon. It seemingly glowed with a magical hue. A males voice came from where the moon was, resulting in me looking at it with wide eyes. "You, my child, are in a dark abyss. This is your mind when you are in a dreamless sleep. Every night your mind becomes enveloped in a dark abyss. Every morning you've questioned why that was occurring. I am here to tell you the truth. Would you like to know, Paige?" I felt I could trust this voice, but I couldn't figure out why? I looked at the moon with a curious, soft expression. "Who are you? Have I gone completely mad? I'm t-talking t-to who? Th-The man in the moon? I'm going fucking crazy." I stated, my voice shaky. I giggled softly then looked at the moon again in a serious manner. I waited a moment before I hugged myself while looking at the bright moon once again knowingly. "Y-You..are him..aren't you? The...The Man in the Moon." The voice was silent for a moment before he spoke to me gently. "Yes, my child. If you wish, you may call me Manny. In order for me to give you the information about who you are..you must give me your word that you believe and trust me. Do you, Paige?" I knew my answer and without hesitation I spoke. "I-I believe and trust you.." As soon as I gave my answer, an image of a young woman with what looked to be crystal clear fairy wings attached to her back, long wavy blonde hair, pale skin, blue eyes, flats with laces that went up her legs like swirly vines, a flowing white dress and small eclipse moon tattoo with a star in the middle of it on her left cheek. A star seeming to magically appear then float gracefully from her hand. The voice came back out of nowhere. "Your real name is not Paige Pixie Dustene. It is Pixie Nevaeh Trust. And you are a Guardian of childhood. The last of your kind. The last Fairy of my creation." I just stared at Manny in shock, my mouth slightly agape. "This is an awful lot to take in, but it will not be overwhelming for long, I promise you Pixie. Now, rest and you will feel better once you awake. Toothiana will explain to you the rest. Farewell my child." His voice faded as did the light that illuminated the dark area. "W-Wait! What the fu-" I was suddenly lost in a peaceful dream as if I had been abruptly knocked out.
