At the North Pole, there's a somber atmosphere. In North's fortress, the Guardians gather for the ceremony of their fellow Guardian of Dreams. In the globe room, all who resides in the workshop, are in the midst of a somber ceremony, marking the passing of Sandy. Burning candles line the perimeter of Sandy's stone emblem. Tooth sets down a candle and hovers shoulder to shoulder with North and Bunny. The three hold hands in solace. The ringing of somber bells can be heard echoing throughout the chamber, the elves being the source of this as part of  a ceremonial dirge.

Too frustrated and upset with myself, I turned away from the Guardians as they set up Sandy's ceremony. I walked to a room farther away from the Globe Room, clutching my staff absentmindedly and used my other hand to pull my hood over my head. Noticing a ledge near the window, I flew to it and sat down, bringing my legs up to my chest. Facing the window, I tapped the glass, watching the frost create a symbol of Sandy. I sighed. "It's my fault...I'm sorry, Sandy." I spoke aloud as I stared at the frosty symbol of Sandy, cursing myself in my mind for not doing more to stop it from happening. I saw North and Starry's reflections in the glass, approaching behind me. They slowly walk up to me. "Are you alright?" I didn't respond to North, my eyes still fixed on the image of Sandy. "I just, I wish I could've done something." Starry spoke up in her soft toned voice, though I could tell she wanted to get it through to me that I wasn't the one at fault. "Done something? Jack, y-y-you stood up to Pitch. You, you saved us. Even Thumper! That's ah, that's a big deal." She giggled with a hint of nervousness. She clears her throat, glances at North, then looks down. "Sorry, sorry." I glared downwards, only thinking about how much I screwed up. "But Sandy wo-" North cuts me off, putting a hand on my shoulder. "Would be proud of what you did." I pulled back my hood and stood up as North continued. "I don't know who you were in your past life, but in this life you are Guardian." I looked up at North, inquisitive. "But how can I know who I am, until I find out who I was?" I could tell both Starry and North knew I was desperate for answers. North cracks a smile. "You will. I feel it, in my belly." Starry raises an eyebrow at him while a soft smile graced her features. I shake my head then look at him with a small smile. "Of course you do, North." As the three of us walk back toward the Globe Room I jerk to attention, turning to the other two with a concerned look. "Where's Y/N?" North's blue eyes widened as realization hit him and Starry looked as if she'd just seen a demon. My eyes narrow as I turn and speed walk to the Globe Room. All I could think about was finding Y/N and getting her back with us. With me. "I told her I was her Guardian and that's what I'm going to be." I turned to face the two trying to keep up with me as I walked backwards. "Manny may have "chose" me to hang out here with you guys, but if I'm anyone's Guardian, I'm Y/N's Guardian. She's my snowflake..and I'm going to find her." I turned back around, seeing the entrance to the Globe Room, then flew up to the Globe of Belief. It's losing lights at an alarming rate. "Look how fast they're going out." After Tooth stated that I glared downwards, realizing what's been happening. "It's fear." I looked down as Starry stepped up, she finished my sentence. "He's...h-he's tipped the balance. That's...that's, that is not good." I saw the fear in her eyes. I wanted to cheer her up, but at the moment I had only one thing on my mind, or rather one person...Y/N, my snowflake. "I'm, I'm..I'm starting to really freak out you guys. What are we gonna do?! Does, does anyone have a game plan?" Her voice got higher with each word. As I turn away from Starry, and around the room I see the uneasiness in the Guardians' eyes. There's a nervous tension in the room. The kangaroo abruptly perked up, twirling one of his boomerangs. I rolled my eyes. He placed a paw on Starry's shaking form, on her shoulder. She looked up at him sideways and he gave her a smile. I looked at the Easter Kangaroo oddly. "Hey, buck up ya sad-sacks. Come on! We can still turn this around!" He hops up and flips, landing onto North's NASA looking control panel at the front of the group. "Easter is tomorrow and I need your help. I say we pull out all the stops and we get those little lights flickering again!" I watch as they all look at him with new found hope and determination. Then Starry looks at him oddly as well. "W-Wait..you, you need our help? How uh..how exactly could we help, Aster?" While she was stuck on that, I was surprised he said something so non-egotistical. Thinking of this, I smirked down at him and spoke up right as he was about to answer Starry's question. "Yeah, hold on a second. You need our help? Since when does the Almighty Easter Bunny need us commoners' help?" He just looked at me, stone-faced, while Starry let out a giggle. Before he could throw a snarky, sarcastic comment at me, I flew down to the front of the group. I spoke with serious tone. "Alright Guardians, kangaroo, lets go paint some eggs, find Y/N and save the freaking world, yeah?" They all nodded, and Bunny was apathetic. He just groaned and rolled his eyes. Tooth and Starry looked at each other smiling and shrugged. We all turned and began walking to the elevator shaft. "You are not to touch anything in my Warren, Frostbite." I didn't respond to him as I continued walking, a smirk forming on my lips. No promises, kangaroo.
