Y/N took one last picture of Norths face close up, then stealthily moved back towards the window, swiping through the pictures while giggling quietly. "Awesome." Jamies bedroom door suddenly opens. Y/N looks up quickly, gasping softly. "Oh!" She quickly dives to the floor, next to Jamies bed, near his bed side table. Y/N sees the little feet toddle into the room across the floor under the bed, then sits up and peaks over the bed curiously. "Sof?" The neon girl asked quietly, not wanting her younger sister to notice her just yet. Sofie takes in the scene, wide eyed. She toddles over to North, giggling all the way. Y/N watches her slightly amused, but also with caution, knowing the toddler to be a clumsy child. Sofie pokes at Norths rotund belly. Y/N stifles a giggle. The wacky haired child seemed to notice something. Y/N follows her gaze. "Oh, Sof. No.." She reaches a little hand into North's pocket and pulls out a snowglobe. "Oki.." Y/N thought softly aloud. "M-Maybe it's not the magic portal snowglobe?" Sofie looks at it bright eyed. "Pretty!" She looks over to see Bunny, sound asleep on the floor. "Bunny! Hop! Hop! Hop!" The snowglobe suddenly lights up. Sofie's green eyes widen as she looks at the beautiful vista inside the globe. Y/N's colorful eyes widen as well, realizing what just happened. "Bunny's warren!" She takes the globe and toddles off for the door, when she trips, again, but before she hit the floor Y/N hopped up from behind the bed with her hand raised toward Sofie, catching her with her mind right before she hit the floor. "Sof! You dork." While she lands Sofie safely on the floor onto her feet from mid-air, the snowglobe smashes on the floor. Y/N smiles, relieved, at a wide eyed and giggling Sofie. "Sisy?" The toddler asked, looking up at Y/N bubbly. Y/N nodded with a smile. "Of course, silly. Can't you tell?" Sofie and Y/N both giggle even though Sofie barely comprehends what just happened. Sofie bounces up and down happily. "Fly! Fly! Fly! Again! Again!" Y/N couldn't help but grin at her little sister. They both look over to see a magical portal opened. Sofie giggles, and before Y/N could reach her, she toddles through the portal. "Fudge! Dammit Sof!" Y/N throws her hands up, exasperated. "Of course it wasn't just a snowglobe. It's North. It's gotta be a freaking magical snowglobe. Why does this kind of shiz always happen to me? Alright, alright. T-Time to ah, be a Guardian, I guess." She takes a breath then braces herself as she slowly goes through the portal, following the wild child. "Ooohhh.." As soon as the portal closed up, North's bleary eyes pop open mid-snore. "Whuh-huh?" Meanwhile, two nightmares zigzag along the rooftops throughout Burgess's neighborhood, searching for victims. Jack, loving the chase, is in hot pursuit with Sandy and Stardust. Sandy, who's riding along on a stream of dreamsand - and Stardust, who's right behind the two in the middle, using her powers to fly her alongside them. "Wahoo! Haha! Yes!" Jack shouts, gleefully. Stardust gives him a soft warning glance. "Jack, k-keep your voice down. Pitch might hear and, and ambush us!" "Oh, don't be such a Guardian, Starry. Have a little fun. They're just nightmares. We can take em'." She was about to respond back to him, but as she opened her mouth to speak, Jack flew off up ahead. Sandy just shrugs at her, then parted ways as well, as one of the nightmares splits off, angling for a bedroom window. Sandy calmly follows. The nightmare flies right through the window and Sandy does the same. The other one angles up over the house's roof to evade Jack, who parkours over the roof after it. Jack shouts gleefully, Stardust follows his voice and follows him, landing next to him as her energy fades. "Jack, s-seriously. Chill. W-We don't wanna attract any unwanted attention w-with, without the other Guardians." Stardust looks below to see flashes of golden sand and light race through the house as Sandy battles the nightmare. As Jack zooms away with the other nightmare, Stardust watches as Sandy and the first nightmare blast out of the window, wrestling it until it explodes into golden dreamsand which he quickly transforms into a sting ray for him to ride. Stardust stares in awe for a split second then turns around to continue to try to reason with Jack about Pitch, but comes face to face with an empty space. She's the only one on the rooftop. She sighs. "Why do I even try?" She was about to leap off the edge until she was suddenly knocked unconscious with a ball of nightmare sand. Her limp body fell off to the side, fast asleep. Pitch's mocking laughter echoed then faded in the night. He bent down and picked her up, carrying her bridal style, back into the shadows. "Now, my dear Stardust. You'll be of great use to me in the near future." He disappears along with the unconscious Guardian. Meanwhile, Jack flies through town on the heels of the nightmare. It makes a sharp turn down an alleyway and Jack is quick to follow. The nightmare then veers up the wall of the alley and onto a rooftop. Jack whips a blast from his staff and hits the nightmare before it disappears from view. Jack, jazzed, laughs overjoyed. "I got it!" He jumps up onto the roof and prods the frozen nightmare with his staff. "Sandy! Starry, did you guys see that?! Look at this thing!" Jack can barely contain his excitement as he calls out to Sandy and Stardust. But suddenly Pitch lurches out from behind an air conditioning unit on the roof top. "Frost?" Jack blasts a wave of frost across the roof top, but Pitch easily dodges it, reappearing behind Jack on the adjoining rooftop. "You know, for a "neutral party" you spend an awful lot of time with those weirdos." Pitch stares down at the winter spirit. "This isn't your fight, Jack." Jack's eyes narrow. He holds out his staff, ready to strike. "You made it my fight when you stole those teeth." Pitch regards him curiously. "Teeth? Why do you care about the teeth?" When he notices something and turns to find Sandy calmly standing on the rooftop next to him. Pitch quickly sidesteps, moving away from the Guardian of Dreams. Pitch then chuckles. "Now this is who I'm looking for.." Before he can finish a dreamsand stream whips around Pitch, forcing him to duck and dodge Sandy's sudden attack. "Whoa..?" Pitch disperses a stream of nightmare sand, turning it into a gigantic sickle and swings it back at Sandy. Jack ducks, avoiding injury as Sandy's pushed back against a ledge. Suddenly, Pitch was blasted with a ball of maroon colored energy, causing him to stumble back and quickly glare up at the sky. Stardust floats down to stand next to Sandy, her energy going away as her eyes fade back from the pink/red color. She stumbles a bit, then stares at Pitch, barely hiding her fear. "How? How did you become conscious, love?" He smirks at her, visibly frustrated seeing her safe and awake. "Oh, y-you, ah..you never actually knocked me out, love." She says "love" with a mocking tone in her wavering voice. She attempts to stand her ground, explaining to Pitch what actually happened. "You knocked out an illusion, Pitch. I created an illusion of myself sensing you were nearby. Because, y-you know, Guardian of Imagination..I've got the power." She stifles a giggle, and leans down to Sandy. "I've always wanted to say that." Seeing Pitch distracted due to Stardust's appearance, Sandy took this opportunity to make a move. Jack looked pissed hearing what Pitch attempted to do to Stardust. Sandy quickly grabs Pitch with another dreamsand stream, and yanks him off his feet, slamming him repeatedly against the tops of the buildings until finally throwing him off the rooftop. Stardust jumps once in the air. "Yes! That's what you get!" Sandy smiles at her quirky behavior. Pitch bounces off the ground as he crashes into an empty street. As Sandy dusts his hands and calmly steps off the rooftop to follow, Jack looks on astonished, while Stardust looks on happily, wishing she could watch Sandy beat Pitch up on repeat. Jack leans toward Stardust. "Remind me not to get on his bad side." Stardust giggles at him. Pitch shakes off the crash, trying to back up as Sandy touches down and moves toward him, Jack and Stardust following. Pitch cowers on the ground in fear as they approach. The cowering Pitch looks up, pleading. "Okay, easy! You can't blame me for trying, Sandy. You don't know what it's like to be weak and hated. It was stupid of me to mess with your dreams. So I'll tell you what..." Sandy continues forward, grin faced. But suddenly Pitch stops cowering and stands up. His tone changes. "You can have 'em back." Before the three can react, a nightmare shoots up through a storm drain as several other nightmares gather in the alley behind him. Jack, Sandy and Stardust look around as hundreds of nightmares descend from the surrounding rooftops to encircle them. "Ooohhh.." Stardust cowers. "Guys..th-this doesn't look good. I told you, Jack, I told you this would happen." Jack smiles at her nervously, his eyes showing some guilt. He then looks around, worried. Looking to Sandy, he mutters... "You take the ones on the left, we'll take the ones on the right?" Pitch rises up from off the ground as Onyx takes shape underneath him. He grabs onto Onyx's mane as it snorts and snarls. The malevolent spirit then leans forward. "Boo!" Pitch's army of nightmares begin to charge. Then out of nowhere, the sound of bells and reindeer echo in the distance. North's sleigh bursts through the clouds. Jack, Stardust and Pitch look up into the sky as it circles overhead. The sleigh turns toward Pitch, only to fly a few feet over his head. Pitch turns as it passes over him, slightly confused. North's asleep at the wheel, along with Bunny and Tooth. Suddenly, the sleigh clips one of it's skis as it flies over City Hall abruptly, jolting North to attention. "Ah!" Bunny awakes with a fright from a bad dream. "Get outta my Warren!" The pooka suddenly realizes he's awake. "Huh?" Still battling nightmares, Sandy propels himself and Jack, who quickly grabs Stardust's hand, into the air with a stream of dreamsand and launches Jack away from the nightmares. "Eep!" Stardust squeaks as her hand slips from Jack's. She spun around in the air, then closed her eyes, quickly igniting her powers. Her eyes open to reveal the pink/red color as her hands and arms are engulfed in her maroon hued energy. She hovers in mid-air and begins blasting nightmares with her powers. After seeing Stardust handling herself well, Jack quickly orients himself and knocks an oncoming nightmare with his staff. Tooth quickly jumps off the side of the sleigh toward Jack and Sandy. Jack, knocks away a few more nightmares with his staff, and looks up. Tooth zooms into view through the swarm of nightmares, slicing them apart with her wings, causing them to explode into black sand. Pitch gives a signal and leaps into the air, leading another wave of nightmares after the Guardians. Back in the sleigh, Bunny jumps out and lands on a nearby roof. Bunny quickly tosses a boomerang which disintegrates every nightmare in it's path. Bunny catches the returning boomerang, leaps off the roof, and grabs the skids of the sleigh as it passes by. North stands, drawing both his scimitars, and slices the oncoming nightmares to bits as they attack. "Ha. Ha. Ha. Come on!" Jack heads back to the sleigh by dodging two nightmares as they attack. As he continues his decent, he's suddenly blind sided by another nightmare, which knocks his staff from his hands. For a moment, Jack is in a state of panic as he finds himself in a free fall. Stardust looks his way, gasping. "I got you!" She dives towards him, catching his staff with her powers, and tosses to him. He finally manages to hook onto the staff, control his decent with Stardust at his side. He turns, smiling at her, relieved. "Thanks, Starry." She nods at him smiling, continuing their decent. The two land on the sleigh as it flies past. Stardust's energy fades away and her eyes are blue/grey once again. Jack turns to her and they exchange a smile. Bunny glares at Jack shooting him jealous daggers. The two turn, feeling eyes on them. Bunny changes his facial expression and looks at them cooly. "You might want to duck." Jack and Stardust duck as a nightmare rears up behind them, but one of Bunny's boomerangs blasts through it and zips back to Bunny's waiting paw. He slightly raises an eyebrow, smirking at the stunned pair, mainly directed at Stardust. Sandy high up in the clouds, does his best to contain the mass of nightmares that are swirling around him. Pitch rises from behind a group of nightmares. He stretches his arms as an arrow of nightmare sand forms behind him. In the sleigh, Jack and the Guardians watch as more nightmares speed away to join their herd. Stardust looks up with nervousness in her eyes. "Sandy, he's, he's overwhelmed by the onslaught. We have to do something!" Jack agrees. "We gotta help Sandy!" North cracks the reins. "Hyah!" The sleigh turns, and heads towards the swirling cloud of yellow and black sand. Pitch takes aim and releases the arrow. It flies through the air and into Sandy's back, exploding on impact. The Guardians look on, terrified. Stardust's hands fly up to cover her mouth. she turns to Bunny, closes her watery eyes and buries her face in his chest. He wraps his arms around her tightly, watching with the others. Jack is pissed and saddened. "Noooo!" Jack leaps ahead of the sleigh and flies toward Sandy. North calls after him. "Jack!" Sandy feels the shock and turns around. A patch of blackness starts slowly spreading across his body. Pitch laughs as he and Sandy lock eyes. "Don't fight the fear, little man!" The Guardians continue to speed toward Sandy, but nightmares begin colliding with the sleigh, slowing their progress. "Hurry! Hurry, Jack!" North shouts out, dodging several nightmares. Pitch relishes this moment of triumph. "I'd say sweet dreams, but there aren't any left." Sandy, his eyes filled with terror, falls to his knees as the patch of blackness continues to spread. Jack presses on, trying to reach Sandy as fast as he can. Sandy stands up, accepting his fate, and closes his eyes as he and his dreamsand cloud are consumed by the writhing blackness of the nightmare sand. North stares, devastated. "Sandy..." Horrified, Jack clenches his staff as he flies toward Pitch. "No.." Jack's eyes widen, glaring daggers at Pitch. "Nooooo!" Sandy's gone. His beautiful golden dreamsand, now black, merges with the rest of Pitch's nightmare sand. Pitch is beyond delighted, his plan actually worked. Pitch then notices Jack flying towards him in a rage. Glowing energy emitted from Jack's staff. Pitch raises his hands and sends a massive wave of nightmares toward Jack. The Guardians watch, except for Stardust, stunned. Jack quickly realizes that he's in over his head as the attacking nightmares begin to overtake him. He's engulfed by nightmares and there is nothing but silence. Pitch looks on with a smile until a bolt of lightening suddenly erupts from within the writhing black sand. Jack yells out as a gust of wind blows past Pitch, quickly followed by a massive wave of ice and frost that rockets back up the stream of nightmare sand toward him, culminating in an explosion of ice and snow. Pitch lets out a cry as he is blown back from the explosion while Jack free falls back down to Earth, unconscious. "Jack!" Tooth quickly rescues him and sets him back down in the sleigh. Tooth asked him in a soft tone. "Jack, how did you do that?" Jack regains consciousness and answers her as he sits himself up. "I, I didn't know I could." Bunny is gently petting Stardust's hair comfortingly until she moves away from him sniffling. "I'm, I'm s-sorry, Aster. I-I didn't mean to cry on you like that." He smiles at her softly. "No, don't apologize, sheila. You're fine." She giggles nervously then turns to Jack. She silently bends down and hugs him tightly. He returns the hug happily while Tooth smiles at them sadly. Bunny just stares at Jack with jealousy. Jack looks up at Bunny knowingly, giving him a worn out smile. Pitch pulls himself laboriously from the muds and weeds amongst the trees where he's crash-landed, oddly, he seems delighted. He looks up to see a light glow, North's slowglobe portal opening. The sleigh zooms into it and it winks out. Pitch shakes the frost from his arms as scores of nightmares swarm behind him, regrouping after the blast. Pitch, at the center, seems as pleased as can be. "Finally! Someone who knows how to have a little fun!"
