Amelia
Sadly, I decided it was a good idea to leave my bike home and go by foot to the movie theatre as it was only 5 minutes away, but now that I'm in the park I actually have to find the bus stop.
Good thing I always have a little bit of cash for cases like this.
"Are you kidding me? There are no more buses left? It's like 9:30 pm." I read on the sign that was displayed at the bus stop.
I missed the last one so I guess I have to take a cab.
It's going to be more expensive, but I'll just skip tomorrow's lunch.
I think my appartement is like half an hour away by car and it's way too cold to be walking home right now anyway.
I take out my phone from my backpocket, struggling a bit because these goddamn jeans are way too tight. I think my blood stopped circulating from my ass and down.
I tried to turn it on but all I could see was a black screen with the battery sign on. My phone is dead. This must be a bad joke. Even my own life doesn't like me.
I have no more choice than to walk then. I tried to warm myself up a bit because the outfit Hannah chose for me was totally not practical for this weather.
She's getting her ass whooped later.
A took a few steps when I saw a big car about to pass by with those huge headlights blinding me.
The driver really wants me to go blind what the fuck.
"Come on get in cupcake."
"Jace? What are you doing here? Were you seriously stalking me?"
"What do you mean, of course not. Me and the boys were just hanging like a block away and my home is this way. But if you don't want my help then fine then."
He turned his head about to start his car again.
Is he for real?
"Ugh, no wait Jace. Can you just bring me a bit closer to home?"
"Sure thing cupcake." He answered with a smug smile as if he won some kind of competition. It makes me want to just wipe it off.
The warmth of the car immediately welcomed me helping my shivering calm down a bit, but not stopping nonetheless.
Jace must've saw me trembling from the cold as if I just took a bath in ice cubes and turned on the heater a bit higher which I was very grateful for.
"By the way, what's the deal with you calling me cupcake. You're so weird." I said genuinely curious as to why he would call me that.
"Where would the fun be if I told you? But fine, to make it fair, you can choose a nickname for me too."
"Alrighty then Mr. Asshat. That's your new name." I said proudly with no hesitation. This suited him perfectly in my opinion.
"Real classy of you Amelia." He said while messing with my hair earning him a good hit on his arm.
No one messes with my hair.
"Ow what the hell cupcake. How can a girl like you even hit like that?"
I tensed at this remark. I really have to tone it down. I can't risk him knowing a thing. We were close enough when I saw him at The Skull,
this is why I chose to answer to the first part of his sentence instead."What do you mean by a girl like me?"
Why does he have to be so damn annoying? I was getting very irritated right now.
"Okay okay calm down little one. Geez you may have some anger issues. It's the second time you hit me and I just realized you existed like a week ago."
I knew he was just saying things to get a reaction out of me like the little immature boy he is. But I decided not to play at this game knowing that things could go badly rather quickly.
The rest of the drive was silent and I couldn't help myself but stare at Jace. How could one be so handsome but have a personality that's so aggravating?
I guess you get one or the other. Rarely both.
Twenty five minutes later, he pulled up at my house without me having to tell him any indication. How could he remember ?
I was very red by now as I was ashamed of exposing my living arrangement. I promised myself it was going to be the last time he comes here. He would start asking questions sooner or later.
Looks like "soon" means now.
"Do you live here with your parents and Luke?" He asked worriedly as I was about to get out of the car.
Pain took over me as memories of my mother resurfaced. Despite what happened, I always forgave her. I mean, she was still my mom.
My father, if we could even call him that, left as soon as he heard of the "complications" my mom was going through. Instead of helping her, he took the money and never came back, so I never knew him. Good riddance.
Luke and I don't have the same father but it seems that my mom never had any luck in the love department. Or maybe in life in general.
I came back to reality when I felt a hand on my forearm making me flinch.
Jace retracted his hand almost instantly, with a flash of pain and worry on his face. I never knew he was capable of showing emotions at all.
Thankfully, he understood that I wasn't comfortable answering so he left it alone.
"Thank you for the ride though, you didn't have to do this for me." I said sincerely. If it weren't for him, I would still be walking in the freezing weather.
"Don't worry cupacke, I would've done it for anyone, really."
"Wow, who tought that the big bad Jace would help people out?" I giggled lightly but for some reason he tensed after that.
"Goodnight Amelia." He said a little harshly making my smile disappear.
Just before leaving, I couldn't help myself but say "And no, it's only Lukey and I."
I don't know why I shared this piece of information about myself, and I really regretted it, but Jace made me seriously loose my mind.
What a night.
