Amelia
After making sure his stomach was full, we made our way to the couch to watch some disney movie, knowing we'll most definitely go for our favorite one, toy story.
We were now both cuddled under a warm blanket wearing the most comfortable clothes we could find and some matching fuzzy socks I got last Christmas.
As I was about to start the movie, I felt a slight tug on my sleeve.
"Yes Lukey, anything you desire before the movie begins ? " I asked him smiling while ruffling his hair.
"Um yeah, I was wondering if -" he stopped mid-sentence and shaked his head. "No actually never mind it's nothing." He continued.
This was really strange, he usually never hesitates about asking something unless it was really weird, I was getting worried, but deep down I knew that he wouldn't ask something I won't be able to give him.
"Luke. Tell me." I used my most serious voice knowing that it worked very well on my brother.
"I just wanted to know if we could go out somewhere today instead of staying and watching a movie." He trailed in a low voice even I could barely hear.
I looked out the window and saw that the weather was amazing. The sky was cloud free and the sun was shining just enough, which was weird for this time of the year. We were now in November, but I guess this was mother Nature telling us to go.
As if there was a sign telling us to.
"Aw, of course we can. Do you want to go get your ball and play a bit in the park ?"
His eyes visibly brightened at my proposition and he jumped from the couch as if he was on a pogo stick.
Welp, guess we all have to go and get ready then.
After wearing some dark blue skinny jeans, and a huge black t-shirt I was forced to tuck under, we made our way to my baby - my bike I mean- and began to make our way to the park.
The drive was nice and short and the park was full of people.
Little kids having fun in the playground, others fighting for their toys, moms gossiping together and groups of teenagers hanging around. Even dogs were having fun and I decided that today was going to be an amazing day.
Oh boy, how wrong was I to think that.
Let me explain to you what happened a few moments ago.
You see, Luke and I were happily kicking the ball together when he shot it too far and went over to some bush.
I was jogging my way there to retrieve said ball only to find out it was situated under someone's foot. They had nice shoes but that's beside the point.
When I looked up to see who was this ball stealer, do you know who I saw?
No?
Well it was Jace.
Out of all places, all times and all whatevers, why did he have to be here?
I have to ask, does the world hate me?
"Well well well, if this isn't my little cupcake. To what do I owe the pleasure of seeing you here?"
"This is literally a public park Jace, I don't need to have a reason to be here. Now give me the ball."
I bent down to pick it up from under his foot only for him to take a step backwards with it.
"Ah ah, don't think I'll make this easy for you Amelia. You want it, you have to ask for it."
"Come on, don't be ridiculous. I don't have to ask you for my ball. Give it to me."
"That's so rude of you. Where's the Please Jace the greatest of them all, may I have the honor of having my ball returned by you?" He said in a high squeaky voice which made my blood start to boil.
"First of all, I do not sound like that. Second of all I'm giving you exactly three seconds to give back the damn ball if you don't want to leave this place with a broken face."
And here I thought that Jace could be something other than annoying.
Sure people are terrified of him but I'm not, he's just a show off. All words no actions. But they don't have to know that.
"I'd like to see you try cupcake." His giant smirk and amused face was so tempting to punch, but I couldn't go all bananas on him seeing as we were in a public place, so I tried something else instead.
I faked a right hook only to fake a lower kick and I then took the chance to take the ball while he was destabilized.
And of course, it was a success.
The shocked expression on his face was enough to make my day.
"Okay what the heck happened here? I'm impressed little girl."
I hit him not so lightly on the chest at his comment
"What do you mean? I'm not little."
"Um yeah you kinda are. You're short too"
"5'9 is not short at all for a girl." I tried sizing him up but failed miserably.
"You could be a frying pan or a boy, I don't care, you're still short to me."
I hated to admit it but he was right. No matter what I say, he would still tower over me and most people, but that doesn't forbid me to kick his ass in a fight.
I was about to reply with another smart comment when someone interrupted us.
"Jaceyy!"
"Oh hey Lukey!" Jace said excitedly while ruffling his hair.
To say I was shocked would be an understatement.
Luke only allows ME to call him Lukey. Not even Hannah can call him that.
Something very weird is going on.
"Cupacke, why didn't you tell me that Luke was here ?"
"Yeah Ames, why didn't you tell him?"
The evil smile on both their faces was enough to make me know that it was now two against one.
"Hahah well I was just about to tell him when you came over." I could easily tell that my little brother knew I was lying.
"Well why don't you come and play with us Jace?"
I was sure that all color was drained from my face right now.
Jace wouldn't want to play with a little boy and a girl he doesn't like. Luke is going to be so disappointed and I will be the one who has to cheer him up.
So I did the most logical thing I knew.
"Baby, I'm sure that Jace has other things to do, he's a very busy guy. Maybe another time."
"Oh don't be stupid Amelia, I have plenty of time to play with Luke." He said with a wide smile on his face.
"Yeah Ames, don't be stupid." Luke poked his tongue at me after saying this.
Dear Lord, what did I sign up for?
Hey guys! I know it's been so long but these few weeks were so crazy and I didn't really have time to update. I will update more often and don't forget to vote and comment!
