Amelia

Shit.

Out of everything that could've happened, this is what life threw at me? I really hope this is one big fucking joke, or else I'm going to kick some ass.

The moment Jace realized that I was his opponent, something flashed in his eyes, and all I could see was rage and fury.

"We're going to talk about this NOW. Let's go."

He didn't even let me assess what was happening, I was just being dragged by the arm outside of the place.

And I didn't like that one bit.

"Leave my arm alone, you're fucking hurting me Jace!" I screamed while trying to get out of his hold.

He suddenly stopped, and turned around to face me.

I'm not going to lie, the expression on his face could make the toughest person cower in fear.

He was scaring me a lot right now.

"Why?" He simply let out.

"What do you mean by why?"

"Why would you put yourself in danger like that? This is not a fucking game Amelia. Something serious could happen to you." He was still holding my wrist, and he was tightening his grip with each sentence, but I decided to ignore it, as we had more important matter to attend.

"Don't you think I'm already aware of that? This is not a game to me, or even a source of entertainment, I'm doing this to survive! Not everyone has it this easy Jace, I simply do this because I have no other choice."

He finally let go of me, and took a deep breath before saying lowly. "There is always another option. I could've helped you. You know that I would do anything for you, I never cared so much about anyone in my life."

"Enough with this! I don't need any help! I've been okay on my own for a while, and it's not now, nor ever, that I'll ask for money or anything. I get what I deserve."

"But-"

"There's no but! Why are you so concerned about me when you litteraly do the exact same thing and go through the same amount of danger?" I yelled back.

"Because I fucking love you, damn it!"

Wait what? Hold up a minute. Is my mind playing tricks with me right now?

"What did you say?" I whispered dumbfounded.

"I know that we only met a few weeks ago, but I can't get you out of my mind. I think about you when I wake up, when I go to sleep, even when I poop for god's sake. I care about you more than I care about myself. I just want you safe." He mumbled the last part.

Out of no where, everything came crashing down to me. This was too much, I needed to get the hell out of here.

"I-I'm sorry, I have to go." I said while taking trembling steps backwards.

"Godamnit Amelia, come back here immediately !" He shouted, resulting in me turning around and sprinting towards the sidewalk.
