"We must leave!" Hux hurriedly scampered towards the keypad that was stationed directly beside the stainless steel doors.

"Ren, come on!" Astra sprinted towards Hux, as Ren took his time standing up. The crack continued to grow rapidly, and in minutes of the initial hit, the crack had tripled, reaching from floor to ceiling. Ren steadied himself as Hux opened the electronic metal doors, hurrying himself out.

"Let's go!" Astra cried, urging Ren to pick up his pace. He stumbled across the room unhurriedly. Astra could tell he was injured.

"Come on!" Astra urged, keeping the door open for him. But Ren was lagging. He held his masked head in his hand, as he slowly limped towards the door. Astra's heart raced faster, and faster with each leisurely step Ren took.

Astra heard the cracks beginning to spread. The ear splitting sound filled the room. Astra could tell there wasn't much time left.

As Ren limped towards the door, Astra's face stiffened with dread. Her mouth gaped as the glass shattered into a million tiny pieces.

"REN!" Astra threw out a hand just as the glass fully shattered. She couldn't quite explain why she felt obligated to save his life, but she had to. Something pained her heart to see him so distressed, she couldn't just leave the poor boy.

He had been nothing but cruel to her, but here she was. Stretching her arm out to the point of pain just to save him.

Ren felt the vacuum of space pull at his entire body as Astra hooked her arm onto his. She found her balance, as Hux managed to half close the door. It was just enough for Ren's large frame to sneak through. But Astra wasn't able to do it on her own. Her shoulder throbbed as the muscles in her arms threatened to tear.

"Hux, help!" Astra cried out to the General who was fiddling with the keypad that kept the door in this half-open motion.

"Give me one moment," Hux aggressively hit a multitude of buttons on the keypad until the door ceased to open.

"Okay, I got it," he replied, as he grabbed Ren's other arm with one of his.

"PULL!" Astra shrieked.

"What do you think I'm doing!" Hux roared, as Ren's fit body finally budged through the half opened doorway.

Astra and Hux promptly threw Ren onto the floor as soon as he made it through. Hux ran towards the keypad, and completely slammed the door shut.

Astra and Hux shared similar deranged glances as Ren propped himself up with his arm on the floor.

Astra examined her hands once more, trying to comprehend what she had just done.

"It all happened so fast," she stifled her cries. Her fingers twitched and her body shook violently.

"I didn't mean to do it," she huffed, swiping a tear off her cheek.

"Ren, you must understand how dangerous this is for everyone on board," Hux exclaimed, gesturing down the hallway to a hoard of troopers that were frantically making there ways to the scene of the disaster.

Ren composed himself quickly, and stood up straight, looming over each one of the troopers that had just arrived.

"You," he gestured to Hux who stood to his right, completely disregarding the Generals previous statement.

"I want this ship directed to the Kuat Drive Yards immediately," Ren commanded, and Hux furrowed his brow.

"I just saved your life," Hux scoffed in disdain. Ren paused, and Astra could almost hear the fire of annoyance ignite inside of him.

"Must I repeat myself?" Ren raised his hand, and Astra watched in horror as Hux began to choke. As As the General croaked, and gasped for air, Astra stood silent. She didn't want to cause anymore trouble than she already had. She was far too sensitive at the moment. She had no idea what might set her off again.

"N-no s-sir," he stuttered, as he clawed at his neck. Nail marks began to form over his pale skin. Astra knew he was in pain, but she couldn't do a single thing about it.

"Very well," Ren replied derisively. He released Hux from his childish grip before waving him off. Astra gave Hux a look of empathy before he was rudely sent away. Without another word, Hux began making his way towards the bridge. Astra's eyes gazed at him longingly. She wasn't sure why, but her heart sank at the disappearance of his presence.

"I want this section of the ship closed off and guarded," Ren pointed a finger at the troopers who bowed at his command.

"Yes supreme leader," they all spoke in unison, as they broke off into multiple groups of 3.

"Fall back, one of you," Ren called out frantically, and the closest trooper quickly made his way over to him.

"Take this young lady to my guest quarters," Ren demanded, before briskly making his way to the bridge.

"Yes Leader," the trooper obeyed while wrapping Astra's hands behind her back.

"Let's go," the trooper commanded. As he nudged Astra in the back, she grimaced. Her body twinged as she bit her lip harshly. She could feel multiple cuts, and bruises already making themselves known.

But as horrendous as the physical pain was, nothing hurt quite as much as her mind. It had just been opened up to a whole new world of adventures, and possibilities. Her brain throbbed with newfound information, but her body payed a harsh price for it.

Astra didn't feel like she was cut out for any of this. She wasn't meant to be one with the force, or so Kylo Ren had said.

The eternal darkness that she saw was oddly enticing. But she didn't know if she'd ever want to lock eyes with it again.
