Part 14: He Cares

"Ren?" Astra exclaimed, as she jogged towards his figure who stood prominently by the door.

"Astra," Ren began.
"Why did you leave?" He questioned, as Astra quickly appeared by his side. He payed no mind to her attire. He seemed more concerned with her previous whereabouts then anything else at the moment.

"Hux brought me to his chambers for dinner," Astra explained, as she shamefully paused to catch her breath.

"Why didn't he personally escort you back?" Ren asked sounding rather bewildered. Astra continued to catch her breath as Ren opened the doors.

"Well he..." Astra halted, contemplating whether or not she should stir up the drama or simply let it drop. Astra continued to ponder this thought as Ren closed the door behind them.

"He kind of got mad..." Astra replied meekly, delicately biting at the skin of her bottom lip.

"Mad?" Ren scoffed bitterly.

"What for?" He asked, as Astra slowly ambled her way towards the living area.

"I told him about the vision," Astra sighed, plopping herself down on the couch. Ren soon joined her.

"And he got mad?" Ren inquired, removing his helmet so Astra could see his face.

"Yes," Astra whimpered, gazing into his hazel brown eyes for the second time today. Astra could feel her heart beat pulse in every part of her body as she placed her hand on his.

"Are you hurt?" Ren asked sympathetically.

"Only my feelings are," Astra joked, and for the first time ever, she saw Ren smile. It wasn't a crazy, super excited, I just destroyed the resistance kind of smile, but it was genuine.

Astra smiled back, admiring the way his eyes squeezed together when he laughed. Ren didn't have his gloves on, and Astra finally felt his skin touching hers.

The two sat in silence for sometime, cherishing the moment they were sharing together. Astra knew Ren was a ruthless leader, and that he rarely had wholesome moments like this. She couldn't help but treasure this rare moment for she had no idea if she'd ever feel this way with him again.

"Your eyes are stunning, Astra," Ren complimented, and Astra gushed romantically.

"Thank you," she smiled back, squeezing his hand in hers.

"I can see the whole universe within them," Ren continued, examining each, and every part of her eye like she was under a microscope.

"My name," Astra began softly, bringing her face closer to his.

"It means 'of the stars'," she beamed, soaking up every last ray of sunshine that Ren was dousing her in.

"It fits you perfectly," Ren extolled, while softly bring a hand to her neck.

Astra smiled as Ren quickly pulled her in. Their lips collided, and Astra felt her whole body melt into his. She felt trust, and loyalty within this dark leader.

She let herself fall into his arms as he pulled her in even tighter. Nothing in the world could make this feeling better. Nothing felt better than this.
