Part 44: Last Dance

"Astra!" A shrill voice called out to her as strong hands shook her by her shoulders.

"Wha," Astra stuttered as her eyes fluttered open. Her head hurt more than ever, and even though she had just woken up, she would've killed for another nap.

"We won!" Hux's stunning red hair glimmered in the sunlight that shot through the cockpits window while his green eyes connected with hers.

"We did?" Astra yawned as Hux quickly scooped her out of her seat.

"Whoa-" Astra mumbled as Hux hoisted her limp body into his arms as he carried her out of the craft bridal style.

They were soon enveloped by cheering and screaming all around them. Astra's eyes slowly adjusted to her surroundings as she took in the complex landscape.

They were on some sort of forest planet. It was most likely the Rebel's home base.

"Astra!" Rey called out from behind her and Hux immediately spun around to face Rey. Astra quickly sprung out of Hux's arms, and into Rey's.

From behind her, Astra could hear Poe, and another male voice greet Hux with immense enthusiasm. Those must've been the rebels he had saved back on the Finalizer.

"I'm so glad you're safe!" Astra cried into Rey's shoulder as she hugged her tight.

"I'm glad that we're both safe!" Rey exaggerated as she smiled into Astra's neckline. Suddenly, Astra noticed a figure standing directly behind Rey.

It was Ben. He seemed out of it, but he looked unharmed.

"Ben!" Astra smiled as Rey released her from their hug. Astra quickly Ran into Ben's arms making sure to give him a big hug.

"You're alive!" Astra smiled as Ben hugged her back.

"Barely," he sneered sarcastically, and Astra could almost feel Rey roll her eyes.

Once Astra had reunited with Ben and her sister, Rey introduced her to Finn, Poe and Rose. 3 resistance fighters that were a major step in winning this war.

Most of the fleet rejoiced over their victory while a few others planned a celebration for the nighttime. It was odd to be celebrating this side of the victory, but it was a win nonetheless.

As Hux and Astra got themselves acquainted with their new friends, a familiar figure caught Astra's eye. It was the girl she had met on Kijimi.

"You look oddly familiar," Astra greeted her in a slightly sarcastic tone as the girl approached her slowly.

"So do you," the girl sneered as she began removing her helmet.

"I think we got off on the wrong foot," she announced while her helmet clicked as she removed it from her head.

Astra was greeted by hazel brown eyes, and long, wavy brown hair.

"Zori Bliss," she introduced as she reached a hand out towards Astra, and Hux who stood right next to her.

Astra was taken aback by her beauty. She was really quite stunning.

"A-Astra," she stuttered as she shook her hand.

"Armitage Hux," Hux replied as he shook her hand as well.

Astra was so lost in Zori's eyes that she didn't even realize that this was the first time she had heard Hux's first name.

"Pleasure to meet the both of you," Zori smiled kindly as she nodded her head.

Hux glanced towards Astra's hanging jaw before he quickly grabbed her by the arm.
