Chapter 28: Sleep

Nicolai's pov

Naandito na ako ngayon sa ospital. Dito mismo sa labas ng operation room and di ko na napigilan pa si Shiela. Pagkarating ko kasi dito eh nagsisimula na pala ang operasyon.

I even begged the doctors and nurses na papasukin ako sa opearation room and wag na nilang ituloy, pero wala akong nagawa. Hindi nila pwedeng idelay pa.

Naupo ako sa upuan at humawak sa aking ulo. Tears began to flow down. "Oh please Shiela. Please be okay"

"Dude! A-anong ginagawa------si Shiela?!" Nagpapanic na tanong ni Kiel na kararating lang. I looked at him and did not answered.

Napalunok naman siya ng ilang beses bago niya suntukin ang pader ng napakalakas. "Argh!" Inis na sigaw niya habang sinusuntok ang pader. Agad na lumapit ako sakanya dahil hindi siya tumitigil sa pagsusuntok. "Bro, tama na"

He finally stopped from punching the wall and faced me. He is also crying. I looked down to his fists that is now covered with blood. Malakas nga talaga ang kanyang suntok.

"I'm sorry dude. Wala akong nagawa" I said. "Now, kelangan mo muna yang ipagamot sa mga nurse" sabi ko at sabay turo sa kamay niyang may dugo.

"Will she be alright?" He asked. Then I sighed. 

"I'm not sure bro"

Josh's pov

Naandito na kami sa ospital kung nasaan sila Shiela. Kiel also called us earlier and told us what had happened.

Kasama ko sila Michael, Charmaine, tita Laurell and Isabel, sila Daisy and Sophia. They are all worried.

Naandito kami naglalakad papunta sa may operation room. Kinakabahan ako, actually lahat kami eh kinakabahan. Pero mas lalong lumakas ang kaba namin ng makita na ang doktor na kinakausap sila Kiel.

"Doc! How's Shiela?" Agad na tanong ni tita Laurell. The doctor sighed. I looked at Kiel at hindi niya magawang makatingin saamin. And yun kasama din niyang lalaki ay walang tigil sa pag-iyak.

*dub dub* dub dub* dub dub* dub dub* dub dub* dub dub* dub dub*

"The operation was successful ma'am. Miss Kristine Tremaine just needs to rest and will soon be awake"

"How about the other girl? Yung nagsilbing donor?" Michael asked.

Napayuko naman ang doktor. "She's in a coma" nanlaki naman ang mga mata ko sa narinig. Charmaine even cried after hearing that and then she hugged Michael. Michael, on the other hand is trying to calm her down.

Aunt Isabel and Laurell are both crying. So I helped them and let them take a seat first. Nasaktan din ako sa narinig ko pero di pa oras para umiyak ako. Shiela will fight! I know she will!

Kiel's pov

Naandito na kami sa loob ng kwarto dito sa ospital. Hiniwalay ang kwarto ni Kristine at ni Shiela. Naandito ako sa kwarto kung saan ay naandito si Shiela. Nakahiga, walang malay. Di kumikibo. Madaming nakatusok o nakainject. She's sleeping.... she's sleeping like an innocent angel.... she's sleeping but.........

No one knows when will she wake up.

Kasama ko dito sa kwarto ang mga kaibigan ko. Nasa kabilang kwarto, o nasa kwarto ni Kristine naman sina aunt Laurell and Isabel. Kasama din nila sa kwartong yun si Nicolai.

"She'll be alright bro" sabi saakin ni Michael at tinapik pa ang aking balikat. I did not bother to look at him dahil nakatingin lang ako kay Shiela sa higaan.

"I don't know bro. We're not sure if she's still gonna wake up. Pero sana. Sana gumising siya" I said. Then a tear fell from my eyes.

Nicolai's pov

Kinausap ako ni mr. Lim and he told me na kailangan daw ng tulong para sa comapany nila Shiela. May alam ako sa company nila and how to manage it. Pero I still need some help. So I'll ask Shiela's friends to help me. Especially si Kiel na yun.

I heard na artista siya and I also heard na his family is also running a business that is quite related to the Tremaine's company. So I'll ask him.

Pumasok ako sa katapat na kwarto, which is duon si Shiela. I saw Kiel tapping on his phone.

Lumapit ako sakanya. "Bro, can we talk for a minute? This is really important" then he looked at me seriously. He sighed then got up and went outside.

Dito kami sa rooftop nagusap. Pumunta siya duon sa may railing at tumingin sa langit. "Tremaine's company needs your help. Your family also runs a business that is related to Tremaine's, so I ask for----" he cut me off.

"Why? Is it slowly falling down? Diba sa ate niya yun? Then let's just wait for her to wake up" he said.

"No bro. Hindi yun sa ate niya" napatingin naman siya saakin. Looking confused huh? "Their parents actually gave it to Shiela. Pero hindi bumalik si shiela nuon and Kristine doesn't want that company to fall down so she handled it for a while. Still, the company belongs to Shiela. So would you help me?"

Tumingin ulit siya sa itaas. "I'll tell my dad then" sabi niya. Sigh, gagawin talaga niya noh para kay Shiela?

Then natahimik kami bigla. Neither of us dared to open our mouth and destroy the silence. But actually, the silence ended after a few minutes, when he said something. "Shiela. Shiela would choose to put her life at risk for the sake of her sister, right? She really loves her"

"Yeah. She loves her no matter what" I replied.

*sob sob*

Lumapit ako sakanya nang marinig ko ang paghikbi niya. "I told her already na maghahanap agad ako so she doesn't need to be the donor but DAMN IT! She really is a stubborn and hard headed lady!"

I tapped his back. "Yan si Shiela eh. Nagiging stubborn pagdating sa kapatid. Mahal na mahal talaga ni Shiela kapatid niya so she decided to face the risk" I said at hindi ko na din napigilan ang pagtulo ng luha ko. "Let's not lose hope. Meron pang bukas. Let's just pray na magising na siya bukas" pinahid na niya ang kanyang luha at saka inaya na din ako pumasok sa loob.

Sigh... Shiela, please... please wake up sooner.

Michael's pov

I can't help it pero napaiyak na din ako sa nangyayari. Naandito kami sa loob ng kwarto ni Shiela sa ospital. Kanina lang naman natapos ang operasyon, pero kung makaiyak kami dito ng mga kaibigan niya eh parang 1 year na syang tulog.

Pero we can't help it. We just can't accept the fact na maaari na siyang hindi magising pa. Yan yung risk diba? Tapos sinabi na din ng doktor na oobserbahan si Shiela coz its either macocoma lang siya pero matagal, or she'll never wake up.

"I despised Shiela. But that was before. And I just can't stop thinking na ganto mangyayari" naiiyak na sabi ni Sophia.

"Yeah. Me too" malungkot na sabi ni Daisy. At pagkatapos nun ay muling umiyak na naman si Charmaine, kaya niyakap siya ng dalawa.

Shiela was my crush before. Pero ngayon, iba na ang laman ng puso ko.

Pero kahit na iba na ang gusto ko, masyado pa ring masakit para saakin ang ganto.

Shiela, I hope this sleep is only temporary.

Please be okay Shiela.
