Lorenzo.

"What's wrong with Lorry? She hasn't been speaking to me for the past few days." He said after he answered the phone. "Well hello to you too, and she's a little moody."

"She on her period?" He asked quietly. "Negro, no. She's pregnant."

"Forreal?" He asked in a shocked tone. "Yeah, we gotta go the hospital in the morning to get an ultrasound."

"Are y'all still engaged?"

"I guess so, I never really confirmed her about it," I said giving myself a mental note to talk to her about. "Oh, mom told me to remind about Thanksgiving on Thursday. You coming?"

"Of course, why wouldn't I?"

"Maybe because you need to stay home and take care of your moody wife."

"She should be fine by then," I said looking back at Lorraine who remained in bed with the twins. "I'll talk to you later, I gotta feed Bri."

"Bye nigga."

"Did you just call me a nigga?" He said in sort of smart-ass tone. "You sound offended. You're black, right?" I said laughing at the way he sounded. "No."

"You dumb ass, I thought you had a mouth to feed?" He stayed silent for a minute, before finally saying, "bye nigga." I heard the other line click, telling me that he hung up. I looked at my phone stupidly, wasn't he just offended by that word? I felt a small kick at my back. I looked down seeing Lamarr wide awake. I picked him, kissing on his fat cheeks. "I can't believe you and Laila are about to be one year old, already." I said to my self. It was November, and their birthday is in January. "Soon you'll be walking."

I felt Lorraine hug me from behind, resting her head on my back. "Do you want another child?" I heard her ask. "Of course, I love having kids with you." I heard her laugh, "let's try not to have too many."

"No promises."

"C'mon, so I can make you some breakfast." I said standing up. She picked up Laila, we both walked down stairs and into the kitchen, sitting them both into their highchairs.

"Girl that's yo third plate, haven't you had enough food?" I asked Lorraine. She shook her head no, and continued to eat her food. "Slow down, it ain't going anywhere."

I slowly finished my food, looking up at Lorraine who was already finished. "Your still going to marry me, right?" I asked quietly. "Yes, Lorenzo." She said making me smile. "Whatever you say, Mrs. August." I mumbled at the last part, but I think she heard me. I looked at the engagement ring that sat perfectly on her hand, it gave me a warm feeling. A feeling that I will never be able to describe. "Stop smiling so much, you look like a rapist."

"I might just rape you," I said under my breath. "You little nasty." She said in funny voice.
