Chapter 18

Chris's POV

*4 days later*

It had been 4 days since B and I took a break from each other. I really missed her laughs and smile. Days without her would feel cold and alone. I don't feel her warmth and care in school anymore. Its like, I never met her in the first place. We were just strangers. Strangers with memories from the past.

I woke up once again by the cold wind that entered my room. I didn't feel anything that would motivate me in continuing this so called thing called life. I did my daily routine. Breakfast is as cold as ice.
I missed the time when I visited B's house, I missed the sense of living with a family again. Guess all those things are over, and we have nothing to do but move on.

I walked to the chilly streets in the morning, its as if the world knows my situation. The streets are empty as if I'm the only person left in this miserable world.

I reached the gates of my school, everyone had heard the news of our break up and forgot about that issue that started 3 days ago. Classes are as boring as ever, I didn't have any motive to study anymore.
It was already lunch time, I didn't have the energy to eat or do anything. I needed to be alone so I went to the balcony.

I just stood there and watched as people are living their lives with such happiness. My mind was blank and I deeply sighed.

After moments of contemplating nothing, I felt a touch by my shoulder. It was Shirley.

"Hey Chris, a-are you okay?" She asked with worry.
"Oh hey Shirley. I'm fine, I'm just.... Missing her, ya know." I said with a sigh
"You know Chris, this is unhealthy for you, you should move on and start again." She said.
"But how will I move on when I know that I'll have nothing to gain. I have nothing." I said as I placed my hands on my head.
"That's not true." She said.
"What do you even know about me, you don't even know anything about me. You're just a girl who has a crush on me. That's just it, you don't care about my life, no one does." I said.
"Chris no, that's not true. I can be here for you, yes I have liked you for some time now, and I want to make an effort to get to know you better... If you just let me." She said she tried to hold my hands.
"No, I-I don't want to..-to..." I said as tears dropped down from my eyes
"To what?" She asked
"I'm scared to love anyone again, because I'm afraid that they'll just leave me in the end. I'll be all alone again." I said as I sat down on the floor, my hands still on my head.
"I won't ever leave you Chris. I promise with all my heart, I won't be like Beatrice. I swear." She said.
"Why are you even here right now? Even if I insulted you." I said
"Because I love you Chris." She said.
