The Boys?

Speaking to the DA was uneventful. Practically just said 'hey, I'm here' and then was dismissed. Honestly he was kind of rude. Acted like he had a million and 1 better things to be doing, rather than talking to me.

Annoyed and slightly angry, I drug myself back up to my dorm. For a much needed nap.

"Why's he so damn rude, it's his job to make sure students have arrived and stuff. Ugh" I grovel to myself out loud.

And if I wasn't already annoyed enough, upon returning to my door, I found a black necktie jammed in it.

"Wow the dickhead sure works fast. Who would even want to sleep with him?" A guy stares at me like I grew a second head as he walks past.

My habit of thinking out loud is going to be an issue in this place. Better nip it in the but sooner rather than later.

Annoyed about my nap being stolen away from me. I storm off and towards the elevator.

Fine if I can't nap then I'm going to eat. I'm actually pretty hungry. The last thing I ate was a bag of potato chips while still on the Greyhound. It's been hours since I had a decent meal.

Finding the cafeteria wasn't hard. It's in the middle of the campus, surrounded by outside tables. However I doubt they get much use in this state. I've heard it rains 80% of the year.

The cafeteria is large and the bottom story is almost entirely glass panels. So color me shocked when threw said panels I saw someone who was, currently, supposed to be engaging in a certain act.

Now I was really mad. I missed my nap for what? Nothing?

Pulling the doors open and marching right up to the object of my annoyance. I could tell he saw me approaching, because when we made eye contact he smirked and turned his attention back to his table mates.

Walking up to the table I instantly recognize one of them. It's Finn. The penguin guy I'd met earlier. The other looks to be a guy with a permanent 'fuck off' look and a septum ring.

"Hey Finn." I say cheerily, as I approach.

"Oh hey Flash" He greets with a smile.

"My names Dani, Finn. You can stop calling me flash" I suggest as I take a seat next to him and directly across from Taylor. So far ignoring his existence.

"Oh I don't know. I think Flash is kinda cute. Since you know you were moving so fast." He shruggs and laughs at the memory.

"You two know eachother?" I hear Taylor ask. But engaging him now would be admitting defeat.

"Alright Finn. I'll cut you some slack this once. But seriously you should come up with something better. Since you're so set on calling me something other than my name" I return. Completely ignoring that Taylor had even spoken.

"Um hello? How do you two know eachother?" The irritation is rising in his voice now. I can hear it.

"Oh uh yeah. Ran into Flash here in the commons. She nearly bulldozed me over she was moving so fast." Finn laughs as he recounts the incident to Taylor.

"Then I showed her the way to your guys' dorm." Now that stirred a reaction from the guy next to Taylor. Who up till now seemed like he had no interest in anything being said.

"Your guys'?" He parrots. Looking a little off put. "She's your new roommate man?" He turns towards Taylor, asking him directly.

"Yeah, but not for long" Taylor shruggs.

Septum guy seemingly accepts the answer, as he nods once and returns back to his phone.

"Oh about that." I start, drawing in Taylors attention "DA said yours was the last room available. So even if I wanted to, I can't switch. So sorry." Sarcasm dripping from every part of those 5 letters.

I could've sworn the vein in Taylor forehead was about to burst when he abruptly stood from the table. Marching off and out of the cafeteria, most likely to go talk this development over with the DA.

"But Dani that wasn't true. There are two rooms with openings on my floor alone- ooohhhh. Ha nice one!" Finn talks himself through the joke and other guy smirks to himself.

"I had to do something to get back at him. I found a door tie jammed into the door. I thought he was busy so I skipped my nap and came here. Only to find him also here." I shrugged "don't fuck with my naps"

"He's going to be so mad when he finds out you lied, you know that right?"

"Yeah I'm aware but I'll deal with it then, right now I'm to hungry to care." I say right as my stomach growls.

Once I returned back to my seat with some food, I realized I still didn't know the other guys name.

"Hey so what's your name?" I ask him directly. He just looks up at me, glares and then returns back to his phone.

Rude.

"Don't mind him Dani. He's always like that. His name is Gage. We're Ryland's best friends. Or I like to say we're the boys." He proudly states.

Cute. He's like a little kid. How can he be best friends with an ass like Taylor.

"Oh so that's why you laughed when I called Taylor a she."

"Yeah I was having to much fun hearing you talk about the prick like he was a bitchy chick." Finn smiles wide.

"You could have at least told me you knew my roommate, warned me, something!" I protest

"I mean yes technically I could have but then I wouldn't have had any fun." He smirks. The first smirk I've seen from Finn.

I roll my eyes at him and bite into my sandwich. This is going to be a long year indeed.
