Save Me From Myself

Trapped: Part 3

  I could hear voices. They're were quietly yelling. God could they be quiet! I'm trying to sleep here. I go to roll over in my bed and a dull pain runs through my shoulder. What the heck. I open my eyes and it's dark.

  Why is my bed so wet and cold? Then the memories come flooding back in. I ran from the dorm, ran away from Taylor, from seeing him with Naya. I ran into the woods, fell down a long cliffed slope and got pinned in place by my arm.

  Then the voices caught my attention again. They were yelling something. But what? I shook my head trying to clear my mind but only causing it to ache more.

  The voices were coming closer. I could hear them better they were yelling a name. 'Ey' 'An' then I recognized one of the voices

  "Dani! Dani Shey!" It was Taylor.

  "Dan!" Finn was with him.

  "Dani where are you!" Gage was also there.

  I needed to call for them, to get there attention. "Here! I'm here!" I tried to yell but it came out as a weak crack.

  No. No try again. They're starting to get further away

  Willing every ounce of strength in me I lifted my head and tried again "HERE! I'M HERE!" that time it worked. Not very loud but it carried in the echoy forest

  No reply. They were to far, they didn't hear me. I dropped my head back down. That was my chance and I lost it. I'm going to die out here.

  Then the sound of running. It was coming closer. At the top of the hill I could make out a person. I started to wave my hand with all the strength I could muster. It was barely a small movement. Not enough to catch attention.

  I had to try and call out again the person was leaving. "Here, I'm here please!"

  The body snapped there head around and began running down the hill. "She's here guys, I've got her!" It was Taylor.

  He stopped in front of me, falling to his knees. First thing he did was grab a water bottle from his bag and held it to my lips.

  The cool water felt so good I started to chug it. And then it was coming back up and I was throwing up everything I had just drank.

  "Slowly, slowly Dani." He put it back to my mouth. I took slow, small drinks this time.

  He put the bottle back into his bag. Finn and Gage came running down the hill behind him. When they made it to me Finn used his flashlight to survey my body. I couldn't even imagine how I looked but by their faces it wasn't good.

  Then the light shown on my arm and Gage cursed 'fuck' under his breath.

  Finn and Taylor exchanged looks, then Taylor was moving to block my view of my arm. Placing my head into his lap and rubbing at my hair. I looked up at him but he was looking behind us. Then he nodded and turned his attention back to me.

  He began rustling with something between us. When he brought the object in front of me, I realized it was his black leather belt.

  "You're going to need to bite down on this. They're going to free your arm but it's going to hurt a lot." His face full of concern.

  I nodded and opened my mouth. He placed the belt inside then turned around and nodded to them. "Ok. On the count of three. 1. 2. 3." I clamped my teeth down on the leather, squeezed my eyes shut and screamed at the pain. My head pulled to the side, blacking out again.

  When I came to I was being carried. I looked up and saw Taylor. He was looking straight ahead watching where he was going. I took the time to take in his features. His face was pale, there were dried tear tracks running down his cheeks and dark circles rimmed his eyes.

  He looked like he hadn't slept in days. But through all that he looked beautiful. The moonlight reflecting in his bright blue eyes and his sharp jaw was now sprouting some stubble. I wanted to reach up and run my fingers against it.

  The time jerk of my arms brought his attention to me, he looked down and smiled. Not a bright smile but a small delicate one.
Then he said we were almost back and I turned my head facing ahead of us. Just as we broke the treeline.

  Adley was pacing back and forth near the edge of campus. Hands in her hair and frantic. Her head snapped towards us at the sound of us approaching. She started running not towards us but away.

  I looked back up at Taylor confused. "She's going to get the ambulance. We called them after we got you unstuck" He supplied the answer.

  Just then I turned back to see Adley, Sloan and paramedics running around the side of the building. They had a gurney and duffle bag. When we got to them, Taylor set me on top of the gurney and that's when I realized he had been running the whole time. Because once I was out of his arms, he put his hands on his knees and took a deep breath.

  Once I had been strapped in, my arm and neck were supported. We were running again. After about 5 mind I was pulled into the back of an ambulance. Taylor following in behind the paradmedic. They started to ask him questions

  This is when I blacked out again, the sound of frantic beeping lulling me to sleep.
