I didn't even remember falling asleep, just crying until the sun began to shine through the curtains.

I was woken up by a knock at the door. At first I thought it was Finn again so I ignored it. Then they knocked again "Ms. Shey?" That wasn't Finn.

I hoped up, smoothed my hair down and opened the door. To my surprise it was the the new DA. Up until now I'd never met him. He's much younger than the other.

"Ms. Shey?" He asks again.

"That's me. What can I do for you?" I say while stepping aside and inviting him inside.

"I was told you were looking to change rooms but were turned down. Am I right?" He asks taking a seat at Rylands desk.

"Yes?" I cock my eyebrow at him, confused.

"I have a proposition for you. A I help you, you help me sorta deal." Oh great where is this going.

I gesture for him to continue. "My sister is transferring here today. She's very shy and quiet. I was hoping you'd be able to temporarily room with her."

"Why? Why not put her in one of the open rooms?"

"Good question. Honestly it's because you seem nice. I've met most of the other girls in this hall and they're either bitches or to hyper." I laugh a little at that.

"Ok well there's still one issue. There's not a completely empty room we can both move into."

"That's where you're wrong. The room she's being put into is empty. It's previous occupant was expelled a few days ago." He raises his eyebrow and holds out his hand for a handshake "so do we have a deal?"

"Sounds good to me." I shake his hand

"Great! Now it's only temporary. I can hide this change from the faculty office for about two months. After that you'll have to either find a new room, come up with an acceptable reason to change or simply move back in here." He says as he walks to the door. "The room is 223. Here's your key. You can move in at any time today" Then he smiles and leaves.

Well there goes my worries about finding a place to stay. I have two months to come up with a reason for a permanent change.

It took me about 2 hours to fully pack up my stuff. When I was done I looked around the room. It was exactly like it was the day I arrived. One side lived in the other side a stark contrast.

Picking up my bags I walked to the door. Took one last look around the room and left.

It's been 4 days since I moved into the new room. My roommates name is Sloan. She's beautiful with bright red hair and green eyes. She's also very shy. She didn't say one word to me the first day.

Turns out we both have the same bio class. She walks with me and we sit together. We don't really talk much and I'm ok with that. Last thing I want is to have to cut someone else out of my life.

When we do talk it's about our homework. I help tutor her in math.

I was sitting on my bed listening to music when Sloan came in looking flustered. "Hey Dani.."

Sitting up and taking out my headphones "Yeah Sloan? Is something wrong?"

"Well there's a guy frantically running around the halls calling your name.." She point out the open door. And that's when I hear it

"DANI! DANI SHEY! Where the HELL are you!?" It's Ryland. He's yelling for me.

I get off the bed, eyes wide and shocked. I lunge for the door just as he rounds the corner. His eyes meet mine, now he's running full speed at the door. Just before he reaches the room, I slam it in his face.

Standing with my back against the door, breathing heavily. His pounding shaking the wood with every hit. Sloan is staring at me wide eyed.

"Dani open the damn door!" Rylands pissed

"Dani what is going on" Sloan whispers to me. I put my finger over my mouth shushing her.

"Dani please. Talk to me." He's still angry but now there's also a pleading tone to his voice.

I sink down the door, the pounding has stopped. But I can tell he's still there. He must have been sitting on the floor like I me, because when he spoke next it was right by my ear.

Quietly and sounding so tired "When you're ready. I'll be all ears. You can talk to me about anything." And then the sound of shuffling and foot steps lead away from the door.

I slowly got up off the floor. Sloan was still eyeing me warily, confused about the whole ordeal.

"Um Dani what the hell was that?" She deapans

Looks like I'll be explaining things to another person. I sit down on my bed and pat the stop next to me, signaling for her to sit.

"Everything I tell you stays in this room. Understand?"

"Understood" Sloan answer before leaning in ready to listen.

After I was done telling her my story and about everything with the boys, she's quiet. I look over at her and notice she's crying.

"Sloan?"

She wipes her eyes. "I'm sorry. It's just the things you went through, they're horrible." Then she hugs me.

"If you're really set on avoiding them bill help you out." She nudges my shoulder with hers and smiles.

"Why would you help me? It'll just be causing you trouble." I look at her confused.

"Because you're my roommate, you're the only person that's been nice to me and you're my friend." The last words causes me to tense and she notices.

"It's alright if you don't think of me as your friend, I get it. But regardless I want to help you. It'll be fun for me, like sneaking around all pink panthery" She laughs

"Thanks Sloan." I smile

"Not a problem. Now let's think up a plan for operation 'RYLAND'"
