Chapter 14 - Atelophobia

The fear of imperfection or not being good enough; an extreme fear of failing to achieve perfection in any of one's actions, ideas or beliefs.

"Dawon-ah, come on baby! Walk for mummy!" I encouraged the crawling child energetically, kneeling down with my arms outstretched before me.

The funny little girl furrowed her eyebrows at me and pouted her plump lips before crawling over to the couch and helping herself to stand on her feet which had become the norm for the 11-month-old.

One of her chubby legs was slightly bent as she rested most of her weight against the couch, looking over at me with wide eyes that told me she was thinking about risking it.

Hesitantly, Dawon took her hands from the couch and wobbly stood on her own two feet, legs like jelly as she heavily took a step towards me, then another and another before her legs gave ot and she fell onto her padded bottom.

Pride burst through my chest as I scooped Dawon up into my arms and tickled her sides as I squealed, her high pitched giggles exploding from her mouth.

A second pair of hands rested on Dawon's hair and ruffled the brown frizz of locks, causing us to both stop and look up at Namjoon who was smiling down at us warmly.

"Did you just see that Joon? Dawon took her very first steps. How grown my baby has become!" I gushed, still smiling as hard as I ever had before.

Watching Dawon progress and build her own personality was the greatest acheivement I had ever received and there wasn't anything else that I would've rather have been doing in that very moment.

Namjoon nodded and let a delighted grin spread across his face before he took Dawon from me and tickled her chin, allowing me to stand up and make us some tea.

"Who's my strong little girl, hm? You're daddy's little angel aren't you? This may sound a little strange Minerva but when can I next have her at my place? Seeing her on the rare visit just doesn't feel the same after I had her over for the night that one time. Gosh, it feels like so mch time has passed since then." Namjoon chatted as we both sat in the kitchen as I waited for the kettle to boil, having already set out the mugs and added a tea bag in one of them and coffee to the other.

"You should know by now that I have no problem letting you take Dawon for the night Namjoon, you're her father after all and I know she would be safe with you. Don't let my worrying stop you, I should be fine without her for a night. Jst let me know whenever." I had said, placing his coffee in front of him and sitting on the chair across from him. Quite a few times Namjoon had to rescue his coffee before Dawon could stick her chubby fist in to the mug, crying pitifully once Namjoon decided to just move it off of the table so that there wasn't a chance that she could get to it.
