Chapter 15 - Monachopsis

The subtle but persistent feeling of being out of place

Taehyung:
Hey Minnie
I didn't want to disturb you but it's pretty urgent, do you think I could come over today if you don't mind?
It will only be for a short while I promise.

I looked at my phone with a curious expression, bouncing Dawon on my hip as she whined to get down so that she could mess the apartment up again.

All I ever seemed to be doing was cleaning now that Dawon had got the hang of getting around. Oh how I wish that the days of carrying her around everyday had never ended.

Biting my lip, I unlocked my phone and began to type a rushed response, deleting it twice before finally sending an awkward text that made me want to throw my phone out of the window.

Minerva:
Uh, sure I guess, anytime seeing as I don't have any plans?

Taehyung:
Thank you so much Minnie
Does 5 sound good?

Minerva:
That'll be fine, see you then Tae.

"That's strange." I mumbled to myself before sighing and shutting my phone off, carefully putting Dawon down and shaking my head as she frantically crawled over to the television cabinet so that she could stand herself up.

From how confident she had become, I could tell that it wouldn't be long before she was walking.

The comical child turned her head to look at me once she was successfully on her own two feet and grinned with just one front tooth and a fang to make up a lopsided grin.

Laughing silently, I quickly took a picture and sent it to Namjoon though I know that he would only look at it without replying as he had been doing ever since that night.

I genuinely wished that it had never happened as it had ruined the very small bond that Dawon and Namjoon had been forging.

Speaking of people being absent, Hana hadn't been home in two days, claiming to be spending time with an old friend that was visiting the area when I knew all too well that Hana was elsewhere.

I knew that it was a lie straight away as I had seen the notifications from the lover that had been stealing her from us whenever she had any free time.

Not an ounce of anger rested inside of me though, I was happy for Hana.

If there was anyone that deserved happiness it was her as she had given up everything to be there for me. I just wish she would be more honest as there really wasn't anything that would ever cause me to be upset with her.
