Lonesome Moon

Spinning and spinning
We are all revolving around someone
I'm just an extra moon
That you don't need

I feel so drawn to you
But your gravity won't let me go
Wouldn't I just spin off into space?
Then I really would be alone.

You say you need my strength
To help pull your tides
But you have all your other moons
Do I really matter?

Am I just another lonesome moon?
If I fell, I'd fall
And fall
And fall

But if you fell
You'd have all their hands to catch you
Don't you see
How much you mean to them?

It's almost funny
When you're someone's moon
Their gravity keeps you from desolation
But maybe that's what I want
