My fingers nervously tapped on my desk as I tried paying attention to Mr. Parr's chemistry lesson, but all I could do was sneak looks at my phone. My phone buzzed again, and I saw that I received another text from Liam.

He and I had been texting throughout this entire class, and the ultimate risk was that his teacher was one of the strictest ones who didn't want any electronics in her classroom. It made me feel a little special, knowing that he was taking risks just to speak to me.

"Jessie, do you need a moment?" a voice spoke next to me.

I looked up, not knowing that I had a ridiculous smile on my face. "Hmm?" I asked, not knowing what was going on. "Wait, what are we doing?" I questioned as I noticed everyone was working in partners.

Ava rolled her eyes and laughed. "We're working on this worksheet," she said and slid the paper towards me. "Balancing chemical equations. We've been working on it for about five minutes. What are you even doing on there?" she asked, trying to sneak a peak at my phone.

I locked the screen and stored it under my leg. "Nothing."

She sighed and roller her eyes. "Jess..." She looked me dead in the eye. "You are lying to me, aren't you?"

"No," I replied hastily, then began staring down at the equations on my worksheet.

A sigh was once again heard from Ava and she removed the worksheet from my hands. "Jessie," she stated, capturing my attention and regaining my eye contact with her, "are you texting Liam?"

I scoffed loudly and waved my hand at her. "NO! No, of course I'm not texting him!" I laughed, breaking eye contact with her. I cleared my throat and mumbled, "I'm Kiking him."

She groaned. "Jessie."

"Okay fine," I said, giving in to the guilt. "I'm sorry, okay? I can't help it!" I whined. "He's like a freaking troublesome puppy. You know. He's horrible. He poops everywhere, rips pillows to shreds and eats your slippers but he's just so damn cute that you can't resist him. Oh Lord have mercy," I prayed out loud, collapsing dramatically on to my desk.
