"You'll never win this!" Liam shouted at me as he continued dancing.
We were at the same arcade that we met at, and we were both facing each other off at a dance competition, and I was currently losing. However, it didn't matter to me. I hadn't laughed this much in forever, and I never thought I would ever find another person who made me so genuinely happy.
The game ended and we both laughed as Liam was crowned the winner.
He pulled me close and placed a kiss on my lips, and I followed through my running my hands through the back of his jacket.
He chuckled as he pulled away. "You're still really good at dancing," he told me.
I smiled and shook my head. "You're better, and you know it."
He rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Want to go to the lake? I thought you promised me we'd go after one last game," he complained and began tugging me.
"I'm coming!" I groaned and allowed myself to be dragged.
There, he sat me down and kissed my cheek. Then, he stared into my eyes with a smile, scanning my face for something that I didn't know of.
"Jessie, can I tell you something?" he asked as he scooted closer.
I nodded as I ran a hand through his hair. "Of course. Anything."
He placed his forehead on to mine. "You're the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I hope you know that."
My eyes peeled open as a good dream faded into reality. That's been the first in a whole week of terrible nightmares.
Liam did that for me.
Liam.
I sat up, and looked around, remembering that he was here last night. There was no sign of him anywhere around my room, and I pouted, already missing him. I could still smell his scent on my pillow as I lay back down to stare up at the ceiling, and I took in a deep breath to welcome the good morning.
Just then, my eye caught something on my nightstand, and I leaned forward to read a small sticky note with handwriting on it.
Good morning :)
Don't worry about driving today. I'm picking you up in the morning.
-Liam
A smile crept up on my lips as I did a little happy dance. He is honestly so sweet, and once again, I never thought I'd ever see this side of him. When I met him, he was so hostile and mean, but now, there's this whole new side to him that I have come to love, and it almost seems like I am dreaming.
I happily got ready, smiling every now and then, because of the memories of my own version of Romeo Montague last night.
He has seriously become the best person that could ever live on planet earth. He came last night just for me, to make sure that I didn't have the same nightmare again. If that isn't amazing, then I don't know what is. Not many people do that nowadays, yet he did.
"Why are you smiling?"
I snapped out of my thoughts and glanced up at my brother, who had just spoken. He stared at me with a smile and his eyebrows pulled together in confusion.
"Nothing," I lied with a shrug. "Same reason as yesterday."
He rolled his eyes. "Girls..."
I threw my napkin at him. "Shut up. Like you boys don't get all mushy about girls every now and then."
