Theme Song: What You Mean to Me by Sterling Knight

Jess's P.O.V

I simultaneously got out of my car as Liam got out of his, and we grinned at each other from opposite sides of the parking lot.

He walked towards me and grabbed my backpack. "Here, I got this," he said and slung it over his shoulder. "It's really heavy. Don't want you to get tired."

"Whoa. When did you turn into Casanova?" I asked jokingly.

He shrugged. "Ever since lunch," he winked. "And I'm about to become Jack Dawson, too." He said and smoothly slipped his hand into mine.

I laughed and gripped his hand. "And what? I'm Rose? The one who promises not to let go, yet she does?"

"Don't ruin the moment," he huffed but smirked. He opened the door for me and followed me inside, still not letting go of my hand. "But actually, I see us more as Ronnie and Will."

I smiled up at him. "The Last Song."

"Yeah," he shrugged. "Although Ronnie is a girl, I feel like she's somehow me. And you're Will... the one who turns her entire world around."

I giggled softly. "I like that. But you have to explain your connections to a hostile PMS raged teenage girl," I said and he laughed.

"Challenge accepted."

Ava looked up from Customer Service, but she had to do a double take to see what Liam and I were doing. Her mouth dropped open as we approached her, with wide grins.

She pointed at our hands, speechless. "Heh... What the frickin- what's going on? Your hands are entwined. Jessie, Liam? What?" she babbled, making both of us laugh. "Am I just imagining things, or are you two together?"

Just then, Liam and I looked at each other, waiting for one of us to say something about it.

"Wait..." Liam cleared his throat. "Are we?"

"I don't know. Is this an official thing? Or..." I replied, just as puzzled as he was.

"I don't know. Do you wanna be?" he asked, trying to hide a smile.

I giggled and leaned in to him. "I don't know; no one asked me," I hinted with a nudge.

He scoffed. "Oh, fuck no. I am not asking you right now. Not while I'm unprepared."

I pouted. "What? Why not?"

"Because I wanna plan something good that you'll remember," he explained, smiling over at Ava, who seemed greatly amused by the scene happening in front of her.

I rolled my eyes. "It doesn't matter how you ask me. Just as long as it's you," I huffed.

"I'll do it when you least expect it. How about that?" he negotiated.

I rolled my eyes with a sigh. "Fine... but can I still hold your hand?" I complained.

He chuckled and nodded. "Yes. Because we're together...unofficially." He flashed a grin and ran his thumb across the hand he was holding.

I laughed and shook my head. "Does that answer your question, Ave?"

Her mouth was slightly parted. "Uhh... yes?" she stated in the form of a question.

"Great. I'm hungry. I'm going to buy something from the coffee shop over there. Want anything?" Liam asked me.

I smiled at him. "Sure. Blueberry scone?"
