We were the first people there and picked seats next to each other in the middle-left of the classroom. I won the rock paper scissors to sit next to the window. We were about to start having an arm wrestling competition when I noticed a small, yellow sleeping bag behind where the teacher would stand. I walked over to it and was met by a pair of bored, powerful eyes. I jumped back.
"Impressive work noticing me. Although I guess yellow isn't the best colour for hiding in." He said, standing up. "I'm Mr Aizawa. Your homeroom teacher. You must be Izuku Midiyora. I made a habit of memorizing all the student's faces and quirks. I actually wanted to talk to you about your quirk, on this sheet it shows you're quirkless."
He was right, I was supposed to be quirkless. That register must be from when I was 3. Another way Star Platinum was unique from other quirks was that I found out about him when I was eight. By that point I'd accepted so much bullying from my old 'friends' that my mother had me switch schools to a special one for the quirkless. It had annoyed me that they worded it like that. They made being quirkless sound like a disability. He'd just appeared behind me one day and from then I made him my secret until I was 10 and had learned how to command him with ease and could even stop time for three seconds. On my tenth birthday I told my mother about him and she had asked every doctor she could find. All they did was shrug and confirm I was definitely quirkless. That's when I gave it my own name. The stand.
"It'll be fine sir, trust me."
All he did was nod.
We waited in our seats for the next class member to arrive. It was a boy with a very serious look on his face and straight, black hair. He walked over to me and extended his hand to us. We both shook it.
"You're the one from the entrance exam aren't you?" I asked
"Yes I am. My name is Tenya Iida."
"I know, you told me back then"
"You two know each other?" Asked Ururaka
"Yeah. He was really friendly in the exam and pretty strong by the look of it."
"You flatter me Midoriya. Forgive me for not recognising you at first."
We were stopped in our tracks by the arrival of the next classmate. It was a face I never thought I'd see again.
"Kacchan?" I asked, looking around Iida.
"Deku?" He said "how did a quirkless little shit like you get into U.A?!"
"Watch your language please. This is a prestigious school." Said Iida
"I'll talk how I want four-eyes!" Said the spiky-haired blond putting his feet on the table.
"That absolute savage" muttered Iida "You said you knew him?"
"Yeah I did. A while ago I was friends with him until I switched schools."
"Thank goodness you didn't turn out like him"
"Yeah. Thank goodness" I said, looking out the window at the sky.
"Is something wrong Izuku?" Asked Ururaka in her calm voice.
I snapped out of my own thoughts.
"No. I'm fine" I said
Iida took the seat in front of me and we waited for the rest of the class to arrive. When they were all here Mr Aizawa, who I did not realise had gone back to his sleeping bag, stood up and addressed them. He introduced himself the same way he had to us minus the part about my quirklessness and took a register of who was present. All 20 of us were here; after all, who would miss the first day at U.A academy?
